We really liked our stay at the Prestige Hotel. We got the king-sized room with a distant ocean view. While the hotel is older, the room was nicely renovated with quality, large tile flooring, wonderful bed and linens, small kitchenette with good-sized fridge and a thoroughly modern bathroom with large shower.
The grab-and-go breakfast in the lobby was much better than I expected. No eggs, bacon or sausage, but it had some really good options, including some wonderful Belgium-style waffles you could heat up in the toaster that were fantastic!
The lady who checked us in was fantastic! She gave us several suggestions as to places to eat in the area and things to do around the hotel. She also willingly answered all of our questions we had about the beach and the area in general.
The hotel is in a residential area, which means it really felt like a private beach! I never saw more than a dozen people on the beach by the hotel. The Prestige provided some really nice umbrellas and lounge chairs on the beach. I was worried about the first-come, first-served nature of the chairs, but I never saw them full. I feel a lot of hotel guests were perfectly happy to sit at the hotel lawn, feel the breeze, see the palm trees sway, and just gaze at the water in the distance.
Parking is tight. We had a smaller vehicle, however, and it wasn't an issue for us. While it was tight to drive through the parking lot, we had enough room for getting in and out of our crossover SUV. And exiting the parking lot was easy because there is a loop that isn't easily seen from the photos. You just can't have a vehicle over something like 7-foot-4-inches or you won't fit under an overhang. There is a parking lot across the street (behind a restaurant) that larger vehicles can use.
But it wasn't perfect. The renovated room was lacking color. There were two paintings, but it wasn't enough to break up the monotony of the white walls, the sand-colored tile, and the dark furniture. And if you have trouble walking up stairs, then I would suggest not using the king-sized rooms with the distant ocean view. There were 5 additional steps up to these two rooms that are not standard size and depth. They required much more attention and concentration than standard sized stairs - especially when going down. And if you want a place that allows you to walk freely from your hotel room to places to eat, shop, and sightsee, then there are better options about a half mile north of the Prestige. But that wasn't an issue for us. We were happy to drive a little bit, park, and then walk around.
Our only real complaint was we had difficulty sleeping at night because of the heavy comforter. Only when we were packing up to check out did we realize there was a thinner blanket in a zipped up bag in the closet that would have...

This is a two-star hotel according to Google, and appears to be one of the lowest priced beach hotels in the immediate area, which is why we selected it.
The Room We stayed in Room 204 which is on the second floor and located on the north side, with the main outside view from a window to the north. The room was clean, small but comfortable. One chair, no table or desk or other work area. Included was a fridge, a microwave oven and a coffee maker. The double bed was quite comfortable. The A/C unit was a newer looking, very powerful and loud at the lowest fan setting –Probably overkill for the small room. The light on the wall next to the fridge was either burned out or not working.
The bathroom has a good shower with good water pressure, but the window lacked room darkening cover which resulted in a bright room at night. We bought a piece of black poster board which we put in the window to block most of the light (see photo). There was no exhaust fan in the bathroom, nor would the window open to allow ventilation.
The best feature of the room was the strong Wi-Fi (a Wireless Access Point is mounted on the wall above the TV). No alarm clock or other clock in the room, In addition, there were no mats anywhere to wipe the sand off your shoes after returning from the adjacent beach! So it was difficult to avoid sand being tracked on the room’s tile floor. We ended up using a bath mat for a floor map next to the door. If you like sleeping in a dark room, be sure to bring a sleep mask, as there were several bright LED lights on the AC unit and the TV.
The Grounds The small office includes a self-service breakfast area in the mornings with coffee, cereal and some pastry items, plus information on nearby restaurants. The staff seemed helpful and courteous. The pool area is small and includes chairs but no loungers; it is located next to the parking lot and the drive-thru driveway which encircles the building. There is a large patio area east of the building with chairs and loungers which overlooks the beach area, and a partially paved (tiles) walkway leads to the adjacent beach. The beach is located about 250 feet east of the building.
Overall this is a good choice if you don’t need a lot of amenities and just need a comfortable place on the beach to sleep and shower while you explore the area. We really liked the area, especially the nearby McKee Botanical Gardens and the IG Recreational Center where we played indoor pickleball during...
Read moreI’ve stayed here before. This was my 3rd stay in 3 years. This is a renovated motel. This is not a hotel, nor is it luxury. Vero Beach can be expensive when staying near the beach. This is a good value for a beach front stay. It is on the south end of Vero near South Beach. The beach is semi private. There are other condos and private homes that feed out into this beach. But it definitely is not crowded.|The rooms are fresh smelling, and very clean. I left a tip for whomever cleaned the rooms because it was that clean. My room was 210, in the middle of the upstairs floor. The king bed was very comfortable and has a memory foam mattress. The pillows were comfortable too. There are no elevators. So, if the stairs are a problem, ask for a first floor room. Be careful walking because when wet, the stairs can be slippery. There were also robes in the room, which I totally forgot about, or I would’ve used one. I got a great parking space out front so it was a little easier to park. Parking is tight. |The chairs and umbrellas were put out earlier than nine, but the time for those is 9 to 5. It was nice walking out early and being able to sit down in one. It is great not having to take anything but a beach bag there and not drag a chair around or an umbrella. That is definitely a plus. |If I have a complaint at all, it would be that the shower has no door on it, so water leaks out onto the floor while taking a shower. |The restaurants nearby, are a couple of expensive ones right across the street. French and Italian. And, down the street a block is South Beach Pizza, which is very good for a cheap meal. Since each room has a kitchenette in it, it’s best that you bring your own food before you get to the area, otherwise you’ll drive to Publix, which is about 10-15 minutes away.|Breakfast is continental. They do have a coffee machine that makes espresso, lattes, and Americano coffee. |I also used the pool this morning before I left the property. It is heated and well taken care of. An ocean front room is great if you can afford it, but a room facing the parking lot is just fine if you don’t want to pay extra. |There was a new girl named Agi, who just started. She was friendly and welcoming, and I was able to check in a bit early. I appreciated this. Pictures below show Room 210, the beach, parking and the front...
