What was good: |The price was affordable. The room looked like it had been remodeled in the last few years. Several members of the staff were friendly.|The showers were hot and water pressure good.|Toilets were clean and in good shape.|The location to the historic areas of Vicksburg is good.|Wi-Fi was adequate, although not secure.||What was not good:|There never seemed to be a staff person at the front desk Always there was a sign saying “Gone to the bathroom”.|The bed was not very comfortable.|The air conditioner vent was broken.|The USB ports in the lamps did not provide power, we used our chargers in the outlets which worked.|There was a plastic bag placed over the smoke detector.|We were there two nights - The first night at 2 am, there was a group of people standing outside the lobby, talking so loudly that it woke us up. One person in particular seemed to be yelling at another. The second night, at 1 am, someone’s cat began caterwauling. They had placed it in the hall (presumably in a cage, we didn’t look). Other guests complained to the cat’s owners. We heard some arguing, don’t know if it was a domestic dispute or if it was over the cat’s noise|The room was not made up on the second day. There was no indication they came by.|There was no shampoo, only two small soap cakes.|No breakfast was available. The permanent sign saying when breakfast was served was up, but a handwritten sign saying they were not serving breakfast was on the door leading to the dining area. COVID-19 is over, so this makes no sense. Either remove the permanent sign or put up a more professional sing over the original. |The Mississippi state flag on the pole outside was old and faded.|The Vending machine was out of order.||These are a lot of minor things - except for the bed and the loud people in the middle of the night. with all the other things, I got the impression that the people managing this hotel don’t care very much about the image they make for their city and their company. A real shame, I can’t recommend staying here until they fix the beds, and keep people from disturbing the peace in the middle...

At check-in the receptionist was very rude, also her phone was more important than her customer. We stayed here for one night, and it was the worst night I ever had staying in a hotel.
When entering our room immediately we could smell the Mold, it was visible everywhere on the ceiling. After 5 minutes I already started to feel sick, also the towels had blood on them, and you could definitely tell the rooms where not cleaned on a regular basis.
After reporting this to the receptionist (someone else) she was very helpful and let me choose another room which was available (this one was completely the same with less Mold smell)
Another experience which I never had in my entire life was the number of "unknown" persons that are walking around in and outside the hotel, I’m quite sure they were not staying in the Hotel but they where just looking for a warm place to hang out. Also, if you have a room in front of the hotel you will experience a lot of noise from people that are "chilling" in front of the Hotel.
Do yourself a Favor when visiting Vicksburg and go to another hotel. (also, if it cost you a little bit more money)
I would urgently advice the management of Red Roof Inn to shut down this Hotel and proper renovate it (or at least clean properly) before welcoming customers here. Yes, it is an unexpensive hotel but...
Read moreI wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone. I walked in to check in, it smelled like nothing but weed smoke. I stood at the desk for 30 minutes before a receptionist came to check me in and once she made it there. She didn’t greet me, she had a nasty attitude. Then once I received my key, it did not work. I had to come down and get another one. She went up stairs with me with the second key to make sure it worked. Once I got in the room, I put my belongings in the drawer and left right back out to hang out with a friend. Mind you, I looked for a do not disturb door hanger to put on the outside of the door so nobody would enter while I was gone but there wasn’t one. Made it back to the hotel a few hours later. Scanned the key and somebody else was occupying the room. I couldn’t even get in because they had the door stopper on the inside of the door. Went down to talk to the clerk she was on the phone supposedly with the manager after I told her what was going on but the manager would not speak to me over the phone. She said it was too late and that she would call me in the morning. I never stayed in the hotel never even sat on the bed and no one still haven’t returned my call or anything. I just want my refund for the hotel room!!!! Haven’t heard from anybody. That’s the worst experience I have had ever with hotel service. DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL IN VICKSBURG, MS!!!!! 0 stars it’s...
