PROS: ||||My husband and I stayed here 7 nights while touring Vicksburg and vicinity. Excellent location: close to gas stations, restaurants / fast food, laundromat, grocery store, CVS and Walgreens. Not too far from the battlefield and historic downtown. ||||CONS: ||||1.) Covid restrictions: the breakfast was grab-n-go only (juice, coffee, granola bars). We understand this to a point, however other comparable hotels are offering full breakfasts again with precautions still taken.||||2.) Exterior ground dirty (condom, cigarette butts in parking area in front of room). Was there a a few days before cleaned up.||||3.) We stayed on the ground floor in a NS room (surrounded by people on the upper floor smoking and people next to us smoking outside the rooms; door not sealed well so we could smell it while in our room).||||4.) Our room was on the end next to the open stairs. We heard people dragging their luggage up and down day and night, sounded like an elephant stampede.||||5.) Room wasn't cleaned / dusted. Only thing clean was the sheets and bed made. Dust on floor areas and surfaces. Found a hair on the phone, hair in the folded towels (some had old stains), and a hair on the bathtub ledge next to a half-used shampoo bottle. Freezer was thick with ice, barely had room to store our ice packs. Desk chairs fabric stained. Garbage can was dirty with food on the bottom, under the bag. Used coffee bag inside the coffee maker. Toilet seat really loose (maint. fixed the next day so that was fine). Microwave dirty, cover coming off the outside HVAC unit. Room door not sealing well (could see light when closed, smell cig smoke, a couple dead bugs in the corner). Ice machine near us out of order the whole time (still able to get ice from another).||||6.) Some of the people hanging around the outside looked shady.||||7.) Checked out the pool area even though we didn't use it. Really dirty. Curious why outside pools aren't covered when not in use...||||Note: We didn't immediately report the room because we were exhausted from a 12 hr drive, we quickly checked in, dropped off our stuff in the room and went to dinner, returning later in the evening. When I called the front desk, she said she would've moved us to another room, however we opted to stay in our room because I had wiped down surfaces with sanitizer wipes and requested a new set of towels, plus we didn't want to move everything... ||||We've stayed in other comparable budget hotels much better and for less $. Because of all the above, we won't be returning and definitely don't...
Read moreI am rating this hotel a 1 star because Mike Patel the manager accused me of trying to take supplies from his employees. He came right over to me as I was talking to one of the employees about a job or some work and he seen me talking to her, he came up to me and said that I asking her for supplies and that was not the case at all.
I do not appreciate being accused of asking for supplies when I did not. I do not know what he and someone else discussed regarding cleaning supplies and that is not my case to know. However, Mike Patel assumed that I knew this.
I have seen this man walk around the property just to nag his guess if he feels that they are doing something, anything not to his likings. He does not appear to have any hospitality or customer service skills at all. "Who wants to be followed and watched all day." He also was arguing with a guess telling them to get out days before!!! He called the police on a homeless guy, because he way laying down. He could have asked the guy to just leave.
Very unprofessional. Now, I have been in a lot of hotels and I never had any employees or managers accuse me or follow people around like this guy(Mike Patel) does.
And im not sure why people deal with terrible customer service from managers like this. Mike Patel.
He aslo misrepressents his rooms as double rooms for two people. Just because a room is double doesn't mean that I want to be in a one bed double room.
Please re-lable your rooms as they are. A room with one King size bed is what seems like it should be, but I'm not in the business to be suggesting this change. However, I am not sure what a double room with a one King size bed means exactly. I wish I can take a PIC to show people who intend to book reservations at Rodeway Inn Vicksburg a double room is.
Feels like a bit of racism in the ole South. I am so sick of this and people are yellimg it is 2025 but yet we are still being judged in certain States.

Read moreCONS: Matress had a large ass crater near the night stand. Pillows were some subpar sponge rubber. Sheets were clean but yellowed as though someone is too cheap to purchase bleach or OxyClean. The sink was nearly plugged up but I spoke with the maintenance man and I'm sure he fixed it as I left. I made due and didn't bring it up to management while I occupying the room or I'm sure they would have taken care of it immediately. TV is the cheapest digital junk available. Even worse than Spectrum with its non interactive channel guide. This cobby setup has no guide at all. Not even a printed out one from the motel. Room had a coffee pot but my room was only supplied with decaf.
PROS: Room and floor was clean. No bad smells like Cigs, weed, mold, mildew, nor dog n cat smells. No sign of any bugs or spiders at all. Great water pressure for shaving and showering. Porcelain was all clean. Has a tall standing toilet with a real seat so you don't have to worry about dipping your balls like a tea bag like all Wyndham Resorts with their tiny toilets and cheapy plastic toilet seats that are never totally attached and threaten to scissor your junk off as they shift back n forth. Rodeway's seat was firmly attached and had a powerful flush. Not like the Wyndham shitters that require you to dump ice buckets full of hot water from the tub to unclog the wimpy little things. The area was safe, quiet, and close to Kroeger and close to nearly every fast food franchise you can except McDon'ts and Hardees. A very short drive from the Vicksburg Military Park. I stayed 3 nights in #115 and house keeping never bothered me once by pounding on the door. Despite the lack of decent cable programming, I will stay at the Rodeway Inn...
