While traveling, we found ourselves needing an emergency stop for some rest, and Comfort Inn & Suites Walterboro I-95 ended up being a very welcome place to land. Although this isn’t a luxury or top-tier hotel, for families who may be worried about safety and cleanliness during a last-minute stop, this hotel is a dependable and comforting option.
We booked a suite, and the room was very clean and comfortable. The bed was neatly made, the bathroom was spotless, and everything felt fresh — exactly what you hope for when you need a safe place to rest after a long drive. Our room key did give us a little trouble at first, but the front desk staff — especially a very kind and professional woman — handled it immediately and made us feel truly cared for. She went above and beyond to make our experience smooth and stress-free, which made a huge difference after a long, tiring day.
The location right off I-95 is incredibly convenient and felt secure, even arriving late at night. It’s close enough to gas stations, food options, and the highway without feeling noisy or unsafe. Families traveling with children or anyone who is cautious about where they stop overnight should feel reassured — it may not be fancy, but it provides what matters most: safety, cleanliness, and hospitality.
A few things to keep in mind: the pool was closed during our visit and did not appear maintained, and while the breakfast was available, it was very simple — not a highlight of the stay. We also heard some noise from other guests late at night, but nothing that made us feel unsafe or disturbed for long.
If you are looking for a quick, safe, and clean place to rest with great service during your travels, Comfort Inn & Suites Walterboro I-95 is a good fit. It may not be a place you would choose for an extended stay or a vacation, but for an overnight stop when safety and cleanliness are the top priority, it definitely serves its purpose.
We are grateful for the warm and kind staff who made a stressful moment feel much lighter. Thank you again to the team at Comfort...
Read moreAbsolutely appalling that this establishment knowingly rent out rooms despite having a bedbug infestation. I woke up during a restless night and began scrolling on my phone—like most people do—when, out of the corner of my eye, I noticed a bedbug crawling on my arm. I immediately jumped up and woke my husband. We turned on the lights to investigate, only to discover that the entire bed was infested with bedbugs. The surge of rage I felt was indescribable. I'm five months pregnant, and my father who stayed in the next room over—who is a post-stroke patient—had just been airlifted from the Dominican Republic to Florida. My dad was discharged from the hospital after a long stay so we hit the road to go back home. We had stopped at this hotel to rest during our trip from Florida to New Jersey, as my father cannot remain seated for extended periods due to his condition. I stormed down to the front desk to demand a refund. The receptionist didn’t hesitate for even a moment before processing it, which made it painfully clear that she wasn’t even remotely surprised by what I had discovered. However, the woman she was speaking to on the phone had the audacity to ask what time we had checked in, implying that we were only trying to leave because we had already spent the night. Our check in was at around 9:30pm and our bedbug discovery was at 3am. Absolutely unbelievable. This will be reported to the Better Business Bureau, the Environmental Protection Agency, and the local health department. Pest control should be coming every week or every other week.. the response I got at the front desk is concerning and unacceptable. People deserve to feel safe and clean when they rest—especially under vulnerable...
Read moreWe have stayed at this hotel almost since it opened around 2004 when we are traveling home to Walterboro, SC from FL to visit family. So, that was the case last Friday, June 14 because of the sudden death of a family member. We found that the 'soft' goods are now run-down and the sheets in particular are almost thin as tissue paper. The bathtub needs to be repaired because the cap that holds water in the tub keeps coming off, but it can be screwed back in place. On the positive side, the room was as always clean as can be - no complaint there. The other amenities were just fine, and we still like it there...it feels almost like home to us, and we are reluctant to go elsewhere. The breakfast is still a pleasant experience and the lady taking care of the area was as friendly and helpful as can be ... worth her weight in GOLD. Road leading into the hotel needs to be spruced up because it is scary, especially for first time guests and yet, we suspect it is not your property - it still looks unattractive. We were in room 105 and there really was no problem - no complaint. However, because we think the 'soft goods' needs to be updated, it would be difficult to highly recommend you to others at this time, but we might and tell them our feelings which are valid and they could decide. Lance, the guy who helped us with our phone reservation was professional and as helpful as can be - my husband and I are in our 80s and we have health challenges with hearing in particular - he was as patient and tolerant as can be and we both thank him sincerely. I tried to tell him that my first name is LAURA but he listed me as Lara - would like it corrected. Thanks again. Ed & Laura...
