We recently had the pleasure of staying at the Avid Hotel Milwaukee West - Waukesha, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The hotel is brand new, which means everything is modern, fresh, and immaculately clean.
One of the standout features of this hotel is its location. It's conveniently situated near a variety of restaurants, shops, and pharmacies, making it easy to grab a meal, do some shopping, or pick up any essentials you might need during your stay.
The staff at Avid Hotel Milwaukee West - Waukesha are incredibly friendly and helpful, always ready with a smile and willing to assist with any requests. Their warm hospitality really made us feel welcome and added to the overall enjoyment of our stay.
The room we stayed in was very nice, though a bit small. However, the bed was extremely comfortable, ensuring a good night's sleep. The bathroom was also nice and very clean, which we greatly appreciated.
The facilities at the hotel are excellent. We appreciated the free parking, which made it convenient for us to come and go as we pleased. The laundry facilities were very useful, especially for longer stays. The gym is well-equipped, and the free Wi-Fi was fast and reliable, which is always a plus. One unique feature we loved was the 24-hour Bean-to-cup coffee machine – a perfect perk for coffee lovers like us!
Breakfast at the hotel was another highlight. While it’s not a typical buffet, the variety and quality of the options more than made up for it. We enjoyed the selection of cereals, breads, muffins, boiled eggs, yogurt, and fruits. There were also energy bars and hot bacon and egg sandwiches/muffins, as well as vegetarian options and various juices. It was a great way to start the day.
Overall, our stay at Avid Hotel Milwaukee West - Waukesha was fantastic. The combination of a great location, wonderful staff, excellent facilities, and a delicious breakfast made it a memorable visit. We highly recommend this hotel and look forward to staying here again on our next trip...
Read moreAvid was clearly designed for a demographic different than ours. The room was tiny with a gigantic LG TV dominating the view from bed. The ability to use airplay was welcome. There was not even a table where we could both sit to talk. The room was very clean. I was very disappointed with the "grab and go" breakfast as I cannot eat eggs. This led to more Apple Cinnamon cheerios than I have had in a very long time. I was very shocked there was not a microwave in the room, which would have enabled me to prepare some alternatives for us. I also could not believe a new hotel did not have a laundry room. The desk person suggested we find a laundromat. Staying at a hotel on vacation is not a time when I want to enter a public laundromat. The desk clerk there most of the time was notably unfriendly. The chairs and sofas in the lobby were very poorly padded. I sat down on one expecting some cushioning, but it felt more like sitting on a piece of plywood with some fabric covering it. It was very uncomfortable sitting. My partner goes to sleep early, so I sought a place to read and use my laptop where I would not disturb her, but the furniture was so uncomfortable, I had to sit in the car. My back hurt so bad by the end of the stay that I could not stand up straight for nearly 15 minutes after awakening. I spent a like number of days in an older Holiday Inn Express, where the hotel needed some love cosmetically, but the rooms were spacious, the furniture more comfortable, the TV did not dominate the room, there was laundry, the breakfast was vastly superior with many more choices, and the cost was lower. I cannot imagine any situation where I would stay at an Avid property again, if all are...
Read moreFamily of four in town visiting family. We were in the standard room with two queen beds and it felt extremely cramped. The smallest hotel room I've ever seen. No closet or chest of drawers. Instead a few shelves, and hooks and hangers on the wall. No sofa or table. Fridge in room but no microwave (one is available in lobby, though), no coffeemaker in room (again, coffee in lobby). Floor is hard surface, no carpet. Iron and ironing board, hair dryer. We only saw one other family there, everyone else appeared to be a business traveler.||Everything was clean, and in good condition and working order. Nice gym, no pool. Didn't notice a laundry area. Windows don't open, which was a bummer because outside weather was gorgeous while we were there. Easy walking distance to grocery stores, restaurants, and drug stores. || If you need to be in Milwaukee, though, the name of the hotel is misleading. You are 20-40 minutes from Milwaukee depending on where you are going, and that is without traffic,||Friendly staff, good breakfast (I would say the breakfast is more than continental but less than full), and we appreciated the 24 hour access to freshly brewed coffee, tea, and still and sparkling water.||Great value, we would...
