Stayed in this motel for a couple of weeks because it suited my needs very well. All I needed was a bed and a shower. The bed was excellent-one of the best I've ever had in public accommodation. There was instant hot water at the shower, and good pressure. There was plenty of storage for clothes and my bags. The unit was clean and the paint was in good order. Despite Skerfoot's review, there were no bugs. ||||There was air-conditioning, too, but the machine was old and very noisy by modern standards. I slept through it though, with no trouble at all. ||||There was a big hole in the bathroom floor, right where I stood to use the toilet. The vinyl floor cover held together, so it wasn't as bad as it could have been.|| ||Soundproofing wasn't wonderful, which is probably why I couldn't adjust the volume on the TV, a big old CRT screen.|| ||Housekeeping was good, except that they assumed the occupants would do the dishes properly. The last lot didn't. As I didn't eat here, that wasn't a problem for me. || ||The room was small. If anyone wanted to use the kitchen, they would probably have trouble with the bed. || ||If all you want is bed and a shower, this motel will do. If you want more, check out the progress of renovations first. My local friends tell me renovations have been going on for some time. The...
Read moreWhitehall Montana is a place you have to want to go to on the road from here to there, along some of the greatest highways in the world. We'd ridden our motorcycles all day and were looking for a decent place and we found it. Newer owners are working hard to keep the place attractive. The rooms were neat and clean with new carpet. There was a Mexican restaurant attached to the motel and the food was excellent --they also had American fare. In the morning the owner banged on our door as we were packing and gave us some fresh made fruit crumb cake which was delicious! I loved the Neon sign -- you just don't see that anymore and for travelers looking for a piece of 50s Americana being well maintained, well, this is a great...
Read moreWORST HOTEL EVER!! Have you been driving a long time and need a place to stay? Keep going or sleep in your car!! You can thank me later! This is truly the worst hotel I have ever stayed at in my life. The rooms were completely dilapidated- stained sheets, holes in walls and flooring coming up in bathrooms. Dated does not even begin to describe the decor! That was not even the worst part-the staff and their crew of drunk hoodlums that stood outside drinking and screaming all night easily made this the worst stay of all time. I honestly would not stay if it was FREE and neither should you! The fact that they charge actual money makes this an easy decision-...
