The stay started okay, even though there was a miscommunication about whether the late check out fee was waived for Best Western members or not. The room was clean, the beds and linens were clean as well. The breakfast was good as far as hotel free breakfast goes. The first morning was Scrambled eggs, sausage rounds, biscuits, white gravy. The second morning we had omelets, biscuits, gravy and ham slices. We had chosen to stay here for our summer get away to escape the heat at home and swim in cooler weather, so a pool was essential as far as finding a hotel was concerned. The hotel advertises pool hours from 8AM to 10 PM. I found that the photos included on their website were very misleading. I had even called before confirming my booking with them and nothing was said about the pool or hot tub. We attempted to swim at about 9:15AM. There was a worker at the pool, and they appeared to be skimming the pool. This is not uncommon especially after summer storms. The worker failed to mention that he had JUST dumped a bunch of fresh chemicals into the pool. My daughter jumped in and began swimming. I got in shortly after only to step in what felt like sand. I assumed it was dirt and kept walking. Then I hit another pile. I then asked the man if he just dumped Chemicals in and he said yes. We immediately got out as I know that it is not safe to swim immediately after adding chemicals. Then we went to check out the hot tub but it was green and cloudy. I took my daughter the the room to rinse off and went back out about 10 min later to take a pic of the pool hot tub. The man was still there and when he saw me taking pictures he clicked his tongue and said oh just give it 20 minutes... When I called rhe desk to ask if we could get clean towels from housekeeping the woman that answered was having some side conversation with someone else just laughing away and said oh just kill me now to whoever she was talking to. When I asked her about the towels she just said, yeah I'm not sure, depends on how long it takes to find housekeeping as she was the the only one up there. I had to ask twice if I could come to the desk and pick them up before she answered. It sounded like her previous conversation was ongoing. At check out the same day I said something to the desk about the pool. The woman said Well they have to clean the pool sometime and she was sorry for the kids. She laughed and said they don't even know why the hot tub is green. (Yet it was still open to use) I said I don't understand why it was being treated with chemicals during pool hours and that the pool was the entire reason we even chose to stay there. I explained we had come to get a break from the heat and swim. She said yeah its good weather up here and the pool is a bonus. I reminded her it was not in fact a bonus and was listed as an amenity and was included in the price of our stay. That's when another worker suggested we stop at oak creek on the way home to swim... If we had wanted to drive through Sedona on a Sunday. We would have just stayed in Sedona.. I feel like the customer service handled the situation poorly and I still don't understand why they would poor chemicals during pool hours. To top it all off they added extra fee or something because my total was $10-15 more then my reservation. I think because of the breakfast and clean rooms it would be decent for a winter trip in the snow, but we definitely won't be back for a summer family trip anytime soon.
UPDATE I had to change my review to 1 star. I tried to give this location the benefit of the doubt but after the owners unprofessional response to my email when i took the survey it is clear that they do not have regard for my family's well being or safety. Please see the attached emails in addition to the pool and...
Read moreGot a room for 3 nights but drove from San Diego and did not arrive until about 4am the following morning of the first night I booked. Called ahead to warn them me and my brother had rented seperate rooms and would ne arriving super late around 4-430am. When we arrived they had pre-checked me in but marked my brother as a no-show. Luckily, they were still able to get him his room back.
When first entering our room I noticed hairs in the sink. Just cleaned them up, not worth complaining. Got some sleep. When I woke and got ready I dropped something under the sink in the bathroom and when I went to pick it up found someone else's dirty sock under the sink with some dust bunnies. Again, not worth complaining. Then that night I took a shower to find the shelf was dinner with a dark colored soap (Grey or black). I waited until the following morning to request service in our room for a cleaning. I put the appropriate tag on the door and personally spoke with the cleaner requesting our room be cleaned and we get fresh towels. She rolled her eyes at me but agreed to do so. We left for the day and in the evening I returned to find the room had NOT been serviced, nothing was touched, and there were no fresh towels. At this point, I was pretty disappointed so I made my way downstairs to express my dissatisfaction.
The woman in the front was extremely professional, courteous, and apologetic. She quickly gave me new towels and asked if I needed anything else. She also provided me with a discount on our room for that first night. Again, she was very helpful and super sweet.
Aside from this, our stay was amazing. The restaurant was yummy, though I do admit it was overpriced for the food and serving sizes provided. Still, it was worth not having to leave the hotel.
Breakfast was warm, with a variety of items being offered including eggs, Biscuits, ham/sausage, pancakes, yogurt, etc. They also have a complimentary coffee/hot cocoa machine available to guests 24/7.
During our stay there was a winter storm. Our final morning we woke up to find our vehicles had been frozen with snow piled on top. The hotel offered the appropriate tools to help guests clear the snow from their vehicles, no charge.
Pillows were super comfy. Blankets were very thin unfortunately but it you turn up the heat in your room you'll be fine.
Overall, I was satisfied with our stay and enjoyed it. I appreciate the nice woman in the front who helped me with new towels and a discount.

Read morewhat a pleasure it was to stay here! first off check-in was simple & quick. we came here for a two day stay with my family of four and two dogs. there are specific pet friendly rooms which are conveniently located on the first floor, by the door next to the open spot to let your dogs out. i loved that it was so easy. the rooms were clean, bathroom was pretty cool and clean, the toilet did clog but we called and it was easily solved😊 there are also public restrooms, if u need that. (which were also clean and private) on the first night we went to dinner, service was incredible, i was only disappointed with my chicken alfredo. it had no flavor besides what was on the chicken. i had to scrape it off to get some flavor in my noodles, besides that, everything else was great, potatoes and salad (pics below) there was also live music which was awesome! the beds were comfortable, clean, a little firmer to my liking but thats just me being picky lol. the jacuzzi was PEERRFECCCT! its spacious and the jets are🧘♀️ the pool is also great, goes to 6ft! theres an area for games which you get at the front which was cool. on the second day, our cards stopped working, we asked the front desk about it and it was solved within a minute. moving on to breakfast, love the choices they give you, (shoutout to the muffins) i do have one thing i was really upset about which was the coffee cups. obviously the coffee is boiling hot, as long as any other hot drink. coffee tasted fine, i was disappointed that the lids were loose, and the drink spilled all on my finger and burned me twice. it also happened to my friend and i tried to get a new cup but it seems its just the lid☹️you can just spin the lid around and it falls off with no pressure, it spills all along the sides which burrnnnttt. i just want to let everyone know to be careful with the cups! everything else was great, service, cleanliness and the pet friendly perks. so glad we chose this hotel! enjoyed...
