We just happened to be driving thru the area and needed a place to stay overnight. I normally not a Wyndham hotel chain person as I usually stay at another chain but what this hotel had to offer seemed to be a great choice. I have had a previously had a terrible experience with Wyndham's call center (they are not US based) and they messed up a reservation that I had already established months prior. Long story short I didn't want to spend money at another Wyndham property due to that fiasco. ||||I decided to give it another go and booked directly with the hotel front desk which was extremely helpful since I was having issues trying to access my Wyndham rewards account via the app. They got my family all setup for arrival the same day as my call and check in was a breeze. The amenities were plentiful with a small pub/bar (we received a buy one/get one beer/wine coupon which we used of course), a pool with whirlpool (which was closed for maintenance / pool was open), a continental breakfast, workout area, spacious rooms, and a nice lobby area (always serving hot coffee/hot water for tea and water dispenser for water bottles/cups) when entering. ||||Room was a handicap accessible as my family has limited mobility and it was laid out nicely. Tub had a nice setup with grab bars, bench seating, and a moveable shower had that adjusted for height and able to use it as a handheld sprayer. Soap dispenser was in an odd spot behind the bench on the wall (could be relocated to the front for easier access) but it was a nice touch to have it at a lower level if you were using the bench. ADA height toilet with ample grab bar access on the wall. Sink would be accessible for those in a wheelchair. The selling factor of this bathroom was the SIZE! I have been in a number of accessible bathrooms with my fiancé, and I will say that at times his wheelchair doesn't always fit comfortably in them. While he wasn't traveling with me on this trip it would have been easy in and out and accessible to all the areas. ||||The room itself was clean and comfortable. It was nice to have a table and chairs to sit at as my family likes to play board games/cards in the evening. We didn't have to go to the lobby area to play and could stay in the comfort of our room. Beds where clean and nicely made and the overall cleanliness was a 10 out of 10. ||||If we were going to stay in the area again, I would book to stay at this hotel again and hope that we have the...
Read moreI travel 43 weeks a year so I stay in a lot of hotels. The hotel it’s self is very clean and comfortable, close to restaurants. That is where the good review stops. I stayed here for 3 nights and in that 3 nights I saw the hotel staff twice. There is never anyone at the desk, if you need something you have to wait until they see you on the video camera and then they will come around from the back room, then they act like you are bothering them. You could be waiting upwards of 5 mins.
On my first morning I went down to breakfast area @ 5:30, there was no coffee, there was an employee at the front desk who watched what I was trying to do, never even acknowledged that I was there, never said hello or good morning or hold on I will brew a pot, NOTHING!
I am not sure what working for this hotel is like but judging by the 2 encounters I had with staff they either hate this place or they need to enroll in a customer service class. NO ONE on the staff knows how to say hello or respond to guest after that guest says hello to them.
There is never any coffee before or after breakfast downstairs. There is only one packet of coffee in your room. So when I wanted anything to drink I has to go down the street...

This 4 story hotel was built in 2017. It’s really close to the Saint Mary’s campus, 2 miles to the Minnesota Marine Art Museum and less than 3 miles to WSU. It’s super clean, the decor is modern, the beds and bedding were very comfortable and the in room Ac was ice cold. Plenty of parking. The check in process was a breeze and they offer a AAA discounts. The pool area with hot tub and fitness center was clean and inviting. The pool opens at 7:00 am until 12:00 AM. The pool area is open for adults only from 10:00 pm to midnight. They have a tiny bar just off of the lobby area that seats about 5 or 6 people.
The provided post covid breakfast was packaged pastries, microwave breakfast sandwiches & burritos, Greek yogurt, dry cereal with milk & instant oatmeal. They plan to bring back the DIY waffles when they get the all clear from upper management.
The morning front desk staff was amazing and allowed us to use the pool for a bit after the 11:00 am check out time which our family and friends really enjoyed.
We have stayed at other hotels in the Winona area and this is the only one we will be...
