Update: the response to this review was more than satisfactory and I am extremely pleased with the hotel’s attention to this matter. Since they did take the time to rectify the situation, I will change my review to a 4 star. I will give the service 5 stars. Thank you, Mina.
Let me begin with check in. The gentleman behind the desk was very kind and helpful, and was able to check us in early to our upgraded suite using our platinum status. I was happy with this as we head to our room. We traveled from Vermont and were headed to the city for the afternoon to see a Red Sox game. My teenage daughter uses the pull out sofa, and we knew we’d be back late, so we wanted to get it all set up. The sofa was broken and did not pull out. We asked for assistance from a housekeeper that was across the hall, she couldn’t get it either. I called the front desk and he said there were no other suites available at the time, so we would be downgraded if we chose to move. That’s ok, I said. We will figure it out. We carefully wrapped the sofa in the sheets that were available for the pull out bed, and my daughter agreed to sleep on it that way.
We went to the city and had a great day. We returned late to the hotel, as expected. We were exhausted from a long day, and began to get ready for bed. One of us flushed the toilet and the water never stopped running. It overflowed into the bathroom and didn’t stop. I frantically called the front desk telling them it was an emergency, the water was overflowing everywhere. It didn’t stop, no one came. I called again, I said, “I’m not kidding, this is bad! Send someone now!” Meanwhile, there was a major flood in our bathroom flowing into the hallway and under the rug. We quickly gathered our things, got dressed, and moved near the main door. Finally, 10-15 later, someone finally came. He yelled at us for not shutting off the water! I’m sorry, I’m not a plumber, I have no idea how to do that! I told them it was an emergency!! I said we obviously can’t stay here, the water flowed into the bedroom by this point. I went to the front desk, the two folks there told me that they were at 96% capacity and they didn’t know if they could help us. How is this my fault?! They found us a room and acted like they were doing us some big favor. All I did was flush the toilet! I thought this was allowed in hotels?? This was not our fault.
The next morning we had to leave early. I knew the little bistro opened at 6:30 so I ran down there to order food to go. I used some coupons that were given to us at check in because we are platinum members, generously tipped the cashier, and went back to my room to get our luggage together. A half hour later we returned for our food. The guy had no idea what I was talking about. “Oh yeah, sorry, I forgot about that,” he said. You forgot?! Then he says, “do you still want it?” Frustrated, I said yes, we will wait.
I then went over to check out. I told the girl the horror stories from our stay, and she assured me a manager would be in touch to, at the very least, add points to my account. Here I am, 6 days later, I haven’t heard a peep from anyone, charged full price with no extra points, so I’m writing this review.
We’ve stayed at Marriotts 53 times this year alone. Never have we had such a horrible experience. I will never return to this location and I suggest you...
Read moreOverall, this is a well-managed and clean hotel. This location is a refreshing exception from the ordinarily free-falling quality of most Marriott hotels.
As always, I will start by reviewing the WiFi, which gets a failing grade- even the 'premium' WiFi package I received as a Gold Elite member was insufficient at ~10 Mbps up/down. I would imagine the free WiFi is much, much slower. It is time for hotels to start taking internet connectivity (now a Human right) seriously. This is why I am deducting a star.
The staff here are friendly, including the bistro staff. While I am not pleased the bistro has replaced free breakfast, I did eat here on two nights, and was pleased with the quality of my food. I tried the burger and the grilled cheese, both were satisfying.
The rooms are the low point, and are unfortunately the outdated Marriott 'motel' style rooms- replete with insufficient lighting, immensely frustrating inward-opening bathroom door (seriously, who approved this design) and obligatory broken, loud refrigerator. Unfortunately, most of the rooms are equipped with the obnoxious two-room separator doors, which allow you to hear your neighbor's obnoxious phone conversations. I actually went back down to the desk and asked for a room without this silly door, and was relocated to a room that still had one. Whatever.. moving on, the room could have been more clean. There were also long hairs (not mine..) in the bathroom, and various stains and splatters around the room.. about average dirtiness for a Marriott, which is a sad thing to have to say. I attached photos depicting how I found the room. The lampshades were all extremely crooked- If housekeeping can't take two seconds to fix this before a guest enters, what else might they be skimping on? Speaking of which, this hotel hasn't moved on from the silly "COVlD" policy of housekeeping "every other day". I am a professional, and want a clean room. Time to grow out of the cost-cutting nonsense.
On the bright side, the room was very quiet at night. The halls were clear, and clean. No trashy people or trashy behavior to report. The parking situation was fine. I appreciated the elite member parking spots, and being recognized at check-in.
I did not have a chance to visit the pool or gym, but I would imagine they are fine based on other areas of the hotel. There was always coffee / hot chocolate / cookies in the lobby which I also really appreciated.
I will probably pick this hotel again when visiting the area. If they can make the internet speed usable, I will upgrade this review to four, even five stars. (Tip to hoteliers- it doesn't cost more money to use all of the internet speed your building is already paying for)

Read moreI cannot believe the audacity of the Courtyard Boston Woburn hotel and its complete lack of professionalism and respect for their guests. My recent experience at this establishment was nothing short of a nightmare, and I urge everyone to stay away from this pathetic excuse for a hotel.
From the get-go, I thought I was in for a pleasant stay as I booked a room and specifically reserved an 8am check-in time. However, upon arriving at the hotel, I was greeted by the most rude and obnoxious employee I have ever encountered in the hospitality industry - Sean Mullen. It seemed like he had a personal vendetta against me because he kept repeating himself as though I was too incompetent to understand his words. The disrespect and condescension were utterly appalling.
What's even worse is that the hotel did not have the decency to inform me in advance that there was an issue with my reservation. Typically, any reputable hotel would reach out to their guests to let them know about any problems and avoid wasting their time, gas, and hard-earned money. But not the Courtyard Boston Woburn, they don't care about their guests or their time.
As if their incompetence wasn't enough, they didn't even have the decency to offer any compensation for their mistake. I am a Titanium Elite Member, the highest level of membership with the Bonvoy Hotels chain, and yet this hotel treated me like a worthless inconvenience. I should have been given top-notch service and priority, but instead, I was left waiting like a second-class citizen.
The lack of professionalism and customer service at this hotel is beyond comprehension. They had the audacity to tell me to wait until the housekeeping staff cleaned up some rooms before I could check-in. This is absolutely unacceptable, and it shows a complete disregard for the value of their guests' time and loyalty.
The Courtyard Boston Woburn hotel has clearly demonstrated their incompetence, disrespect, and indifference towards their guests. They have lost my trust, and I will make sure to warn everyone I know to stay far away from this disgraceful establishment. Save yourself the frustration, disappointment, and wasted time - choose any other hotel but this one. They do not deserve your business, and they certainly do not deserve to be part of the Bonvoy...
