I came here as a vendor for the hamvention. My business partner and I purchased two spots inside and I saw an empty spot next to us and asked if no one was using if I could rent it. They wanted to charge me 600 for it so I said no thanks. Later on at afternoon nobody still took it and my partner asked one of the people if we could use it and they said sure. So the following morning I set up three tables almost 2 hours worth of setting up and then a guy came around and told me I couldn't be there. Then said if I wanted to stay there I can pay $600 and stay there so no thanks. He explained (though rudely) that it was due to insurance reasons we have to be paying vendors. So since Friday was gone and Sunday is only 4 hours I asked if I could pay just a little for the one full day... Again rudely I was told to either pay 600 or move. Told him we were given permission to use it but I still had to move. Okay so that's fine there's misunderstandings I get that. I'm more than happy to move out of the vacant spot. But he stood there for like 20 minutes staring ignorantly at me while I started moving stuff then came back and looked at me with like an ignorant look again, like why am I not done moving stuff yet and then rudely said I'll be back in 30 minutes and walk away. Trying to move stuff from 3 tables to one plus when I would bring stuff to correct table there are customers. I don't want to be rude and am 3 them to move but I tried best as I could. My shirt was drenched in sweat from trying to do it quickly. But words can't express how bad he made me feel I'm very easy going guy and diplomatic. There was NO reason for his rudeness. I'm sorry but if I pay $1,200 for a spot and there's an empty one and I try to use it to help them look fuller and help me spread out than there's a mistake, ok that's fine but you don't have to be ignorant to somebody who's giving you $1,200 already. Another gentleman came and apologized for his behavior and asked how he could make it right which was kind but as I said to him I don't want money I don't want another space I want recognition that the guy was ignorant and treated me like s*. No one should be treated the way he treated us. That being said some of the security that I met throughout the weekend was very nice most of the other members of the facility seem to be pretty nice but that one guy's ignorance ruined my experience I will never ever come back to the show even if they paid me to come back. I feel bad for the 2 gentleman that listened to my complaints and were sympathetic but it doesn't outdo the way I...

Many people view this facility only as a fairgrounds; a place for livestock exhibits, trotting horses, tractor pulls, circuses, carny rides, carny food, and 4H exhibits. It is all those things, and much more. It is also truly an exhibition center, rivaling (and in many aspects exceeding) capabilities of the Dayton Convention Center. It can host banquets, wedding receptions, and conferences of all kinds. It can stand up hundreds of indoor convention exhibit booths, most with hard-wired internet. It also offers space for outdoor exhibits, flea markets, and entertainment. It can summon large numbers of amazing food vendors, offering really good food (far better than that found at most carnivals). It offers ample parking, supporting attendance by tens of thousands of people. It also has an on-site campgrounds for recreational vehicles. The Greene County Sheriff has traffic control down to a fine art; it is quick and easy to get in, get parked, and get out. The "Fairgrounds" are truly one of Xenia's best kept treasures;...

Can someone help me understand. Why you can ride a electric scooters, golf carts and other types of transportation items in the Hamvention show. But you can’t even ride a bike. Even though there is a bike path into the show, you still can’t ride it. Xenia and greene Co, have a bike path that goes thru the fair grounds for a reason. But when you go to this event. You can find people riding golf carts and electric scooters and tractors down the bike path. It goes on all weekend long. It just don’t seem to be fair for this happen. Even when it’s the Bicycle capital of the Midwest. Other then the parking and mud pool in the grass and the damaged Soccer fields. Plus watching people get towed out of the grass. With a tractor and tow trucks. It’s not to bad of event once your inside. I can’t really blame the Greene County Fairgrounds. I would like to believe that they trying to do the...

This weekend [May 20, 21 & 22, 2022] was Amateur Radio's biggest hamfest... with stuff, "out of this world"! Photographed is a duplicate 2m / 70cm antenna (yes it is a tape measure, cut to length) and a "Station" (with power supply) currently in use aboard the International Space Station! This is only a 'teaser" of what Ham Radio is about... With something for SWL's as well. Our venue hosts working in concert with the D.A.R.A. have diligently worked out the kinks and continue to delivered a great program for D.A.R.A.'s, couple thousand friends. And you know what, you gonna give a huge THANK YOU, to the Green County Sheriff and his staff. Thank you! Everyone evolved, B-R-E-A-T-H and keep up the good work! 73 - KD2PMU
