We stayed one night at this hotel while visiting the museum which is within walking distance. It looked a little austere from the outside and the lobby too. There are steps up to the entrance and there is no lift up to the rooms. |Inside, we were pleasantly surprised by the size and facilities in the room which I think was 209 (at the top of the stairs). It appeared to have been refurbished recently with lighter furniture that included a sofa, two chairs, a coffee table and a full sized fridge. A kettle and cups and packets of black and green teabags were supplied. It must be said that we were the only ones in our group of six that had the tea and coffee making. When asked about this the receptionist told our guide that they couldn’t afford to put this in every room. |Although the bed was huge and super comfy, sleep could be improved if the curtains were designed to close over the full window instead of being merely decorative as the voile curtains let in the light and the heat of the sun. |Breakfast was adequate with bread, cold meats and cheese, boiled eggs and a limited amount of fruit. Items ran out and the staff needed to be asked for things that were missing instead of checking and replenishing them as a matter of course including basics such as teaspoons and bowls. They also didn’t clear tables often enough. After finishing our meal we then saw an Italian group ordering omelettes and other eggs that we didn’t know were on offer. |From the hotel you can explore Nukus on foot. It’s an ordinary working town with cafes , shops and the bazaar which is very busy and accessed by the bus station. As a foreign tourist you will be a curiosity, people will talk to you and children will practice their English on you,...
Read moreSuper bad service. Their website can't book for September so I WhatsApp and emailed them. They proposed me the rooms I asked for confirmation and price and they just don't get back to you. By the time they replied they told me there were no more available rooms. I was corresponding with Jenis on email and just no replies. Edited 1 Nov I booked a tour for Aral Sea and asked the agent to get in touch with the hotel to make a booking. Don't be mistaken with this from the Jipek Joli Inn, this is under the same folks but this is a newer and better one. When I got into the room I was quite surprised the room's decor was so modern and new as compared to the rest of the decor of the hotel. The room had bright colours and it was very clean and was also impressed with the size of the bathroom. The breakfast was quite decent too with quite a variety of items to choose from, it was simple but filling. The service of the staff could be better though. I just felt they weren't friendly and helpful when I was asking questions about where to buy things. The staff who handled my check in came up to the room to look for me after I have paid and told me I needed to pay additional which I was unhappy about, because the price was already stated in the email but then they asked for more again. There was a bit of argument but then I paid because the amount was big. Not sure to recommend it or not because had quite a lot of hiccups and...
Read moreI didn't stay here, and normally, I wouldn't be giving a review of a hotel if I hadn't, but I shall make an exception in this case because I thought the service I had was very good and I ought to give them a thumbs-up.||||After a long day driving from Khiva to Nukus and several hours in the Savitsky museum, I was desperate for a drink and some food. It was past 3pm, almost 4pm. My driver took me to this hotel which was just one block North of the museum.||||For those wanting to visit the museum and stay overnight in Nukus, this seems to be the perfect base to use, it being so close.||||There was an indoor dining room and a courtyard; I could choose either, but chose the dining room. Although there was staff in the dining room, a more senior guy came running in from the reception to help translate -- much appreciated. Then, although the dining room was meant for breakfast and at other hours, they basically have just tea, coffee or other refreshments, he still offered to get something cooked for us. ||||I was a little short of time, aware that if I and my driver lingered, the sun would set and we'd be driving back to Nukus in the dark (I wanted to be able to see the country). So we simply opted for a breakfast-type "meal" with fried eggs and sausages, something they could whip up in no time. The staff member offered more, but we declined due to time.||||The eggs came soon enough, plus loads of bread. I appreciated them going out of their way to accommodate my...
