Marmar Family Restaurant & Hotel — Hotel in Nukus

Upon entering our Hotel room an unpleasant stench became apparent which was later on explained by a large patch of watery mold on the ceiling and after contacting staff, who were at first unwilling to make a room change, we were switched onto a different floor which ended up presenting itself as an ongoing construction site with paint cans all over the floor and unfinished walls. While our new room did not reek of mold it did have a strong combination smell of fresh paint and canalization. To add on to the experience the Wifi worked about ten minutes every two hours. Newly opened hotel. My room was huge and very reasonably priced. Excellent location, walking distance to the art gallery and short taxi to the train station. Staff very helpful and friendly, in particular Fayzulla who speaks good English. Turkish restaurant next door owned by same people serves great food at good prices. Cycling through Uzbekistan. This hotel is very well maintained and everything is so clean. The rooms are spacious and bright, the ac works well, the restaurant serves very good breakfast and meals, and the staff everywhere are friendly and helpful. I thoroughly recommend this hotel. One tip.. don't leave breakfast too late as choice may be limited...
