It is sad to write a damning review about a property that is so perfect in most ways except in an area that matters the most, hospitality.||The Bentley Hotel has been created perfect in more ways than one. It is brand new, looks chic, well appointed rooms, decent gym and a great swimming pool and spa.||So where does a property like this go wrong? Here are my points:||1. I asked the reception 4 times over 4 days to have the AC in my room checked as it was not cooling enough. Imagine coming back in the evening from 16 degrees outdoors into a room that was 24 degrees. One time the engineer came, pressed some buttons, promised to show up after 5 minutes to see if it worked and then disappeared. My AC was still not working at the time of check out. ||2. Wi-fi: Imagine spending 4-days on your laptop for hours every evening connected with your phone’s hotspot because, just like the AC, they refused to do anything about my complaints regarding the wi-fi. This costed my precious data charges and I was forced to top up my data from my service provider.||3. Location: In Tashkent, you are 15 minute taxi ride away from anywhere you’d want to go as a tourist. That does not make The Bentley a great location. There was none of the amazing streets which was scattered all over Tashkent within a 15 minute walking distance of this property.||4. Tid-bits: Issues like no shower gel in the only shower in the spa area meant having to use shampoo for a bath. Spa area and indoor swimming pool drenched to the bone and felt filty to walk on. Breakfast was OK. In the evening, I asked for a desert from a menu of 4 deserts and was told it was unavailable. Water heating kettle had a foul odour and for a tea drinker like myself, that was a disaster. ||One of the saving graces was a great massage by Arafat in the spa.||There are many other properties in Tashkent better located, cheaper and where the staff may be more attentive...
Read moreI checked in around 8pm and was greeted by a staff in the evening shift (I did not asked his name). I asked for a SIM card if I could buy in the morning , he said could offer a free just need to top up tomorrow 9am his colleagues will settle. But early morning I was waiting for 9-9:30 there is no one knew about this . I also asked for late check out, he said could extend only til 1pm unless I will need to settle 50% extra and I agreed coz my flight is 22:30pm but in the morning when I came to settle late check out fee, there is again no one know how to do only they said they will check with their manager . I only stayed one night in Tashkent due to my flight need to overnight transit but the team make my stay very unpleasant and not comfortable. Again , I got a friend who come to visit me just 1hr, but the hotel did not allow and that evening staff again , stop my friend and said he can stay inside my roomOnly 3mn, if late than 3mn, he will call my room number or even send someone . he said this is hotel rule . Omg . The way he replied and did were so unprofessional and rude and very fiere like I am a criminal . Until I complaint and asked to meet manager couple times , he agreed to let my friend stay only 1hr and needed to pay a tourist fee. Bad service , not skilled team and I will never ever come back to this...
Read moreThis would be full 5star if it didn’t start with misunderstanding. Rooms are nice cozy and creatively decorated. I arrived to hotel after 6h drive, clearly exhausted, all they had to do is just check the reservation and give the keys. Young guy at the reception was polite, but couldn’t find my reservation, the his manager came to check. They made me wait 10-15min at the lobby next to reception desk, until I start to raise my voice what’s going on? Then they told me “the guest in your room didn’t check out, please wait 30min here,”. Not the kinda answer you expect from hotel reception. Btw it was 4pm, check in is at 2pm. So clearly I wasn’t happy. Buy They approached and asked me: would you like to use our spa or pool until your room is ready? I understood that my room is not gonna be ready anytime soon, so I went there. Then when I came back, they gave me vouchers for massage discounts , menu discounts, free drink from bar ( which I didn’t use any of it, but still) and later in the evening they sent a fruit platter to my room as an apology. I mean, making sure the room ready on time is your main job, but things happen, they controlled situation in the best way possible. So they did a good job on...
