“Beautiful white sandy beach in DaNang” We stay a week, today is the fifth day. We love this resort so much. We love it from first sight! It is like just 20 minutes from DaNang Airport. It locates just on the edge of the bustling beach town areas of Da Nang so it is very quiet and clean. From the main road, you have to go through a quite thick shady woods to get to the main lobby, so from a very sunshine city road you feel immediately relaxed and calm even before you reach the lobby. Check-in is smooth and standard as at any hotel in the room. The lobby is quite big and adjacent to a buffet area which is very much oriental style. An open air space and very comfortable and cool and full of fresh air. After checking, the staff will drive you and luggages to your beach front bungalow through large lawn and trees again. The room is not too big but inclusive. Open the glass door at the other side of the room, the ocean singing nicely in front of your eyes, your lungs are immediately full of fresh air! Love this moment so much. Well, after few nights, I must say the resorts did show some aging signs but in mho, they have tried very hard to keep it maintained well. As so said, most of equipment and amenities are old and out of date. For instance, I felt the hair blower was made like some 20 years ago lol. Nevertheless they all function well so far. The breakfast place is also the only local and western dining in the resorts. There is another Indian restaurant which serves Indian food so I guess there are many Indians in the resorts even I rarely saw any Indian during my days here. The breakfast is decent, very typical American and nothing significant I must say. But they are quite tasty and always replenished at a right time. They offer different types of dinners on different days but we haven’t tried yet. We often go out to tour the city and dine outside. Da Nang is such a great place for diners I am sure. Maybe we will try their dinner tonight :) Finally, the beach is absolutely amazing! All must love it! There’s huge white sandy beach that you can only find in tropical places like this. The water is warm as April and early May is not that hot yet. Most of the swimmers are resorts guests, so lots of privacy lol. There are 1-2 standing guards presented all the time at the beach and the nearby pool. There is another pool at the other end of the resort but we didn’t go there. Tips: try to book the beach front villa or rooms. You wont regret it. Every morning, you can be waken up by the sounds of millions waves just next to your door :) Pro: good value for money (or maybe it’s because we booked like 3 months in advance), very quiet, very clean, right next to your private beach, old but well maintained and served Cons: - less choice of dinning in-hotel - Need improvement on room amenities and equipment Tips: try to book on normal days, not on very special holidays in Vietnam. The first 4-5 night were great because it was before Vietnam biggest holiday in 50 years, most guests are not local. Since last night locals flocked to this beach city and the resorts are full. At breakfast this morning, it became very noisy because locals calling each other across the hall, kids are screaming and some rude persons broke in the line at food table to steal your order. I don’t know why they all appeared very fierce in the morning of their holidays. Recommendation to the hotel management: perhaps putting up some more rule signs around the hotel would help. For instance: - Please keep quiet and respect other guests - Please queue nicely at the food and drink kitchens - Please do not litter etc. Overall, I am really enjoying my stay at Sandy Beach Resorts and would definitely come back when I have time. I would give it 9.5 out...
Read moreWe had a terrible experience at this hotel from the very beginning. The night before check-in, we visited the hotel, selected a room, and confirmed it with the receptionist. However, the next day, we were assigned a completely different room. When we pointed out the mistake, the receptionist Thanh Tam insisted it was our room and refused to change it. Only when another staff member from the previous night intervened did we finally get the room we originally chose. To make matters worse, despite being told we couldn’t check in until 2 PM, another guest who arrived after us was checked in immediately. When we questioned it, Thanh Tam simply shrugged and told us to wait because the room wasn’t ready—even though we knew for a fact that the room was ready the night before at around 8 or 9 PM. The only reason it wouldn’t be available would be if another guest had checked in late at night, which would have made sense. But no, the room was still considered ready according to their own system. And when we confirmed again with the staff member from the night before—the same one who eventually gave us our original room—she let us check in immediately.Thanh Tam’s attitude completely ruined our stay. She was unnecessarily rude at check-in, for no reason at all. Why did she make us wait an hour when our room was clearly ready? Why did another guest get to check in immediately, while we were made to sit there and wait? What was the issue with us? It was beyond frustrating.Once inside, the issues continued. The bathroom had a leak, the TV didn’t work, and the bedsheets were stained. When we asked about the stains, housekeeping casually told us it was “normal.” On top of that, the hotel is old and poorly maintained. We specifically booked a beachside room to enjoy the waves, but every morning at 5:30 AM, motorbikes roared down the beach, making it impossible to sleep. The door to our room didn’t close properly, so every time someone opened or closed a door in the building, ours shook. We had to wedge toilet paper in the frame just to keep it from rattling. The worst part was checkout day. At 7 AM, loud construction or something started above our room, waking us up. Then, after breakfast, we returned to find our shower wasn’t working. Despite multiple complaints, the issue wasn’t addressed until nearly 12 PM. By then, staff rudely reminded us we needed to check out soon—completely ignoring the fact that the problem was on their end. Eventually, they offered us another room just to take a shower, but only after making us wait hours with no solution. This was one of the worst hotel stays we’ve ever had. The hotel itself is already in bad condition, but Thanh Tam’s attitude made everything worse. Her rudeness and unprofessionalism completely tainted our experience. Definitely would...
Read moreFirst impressions were good. Beautiful lobby area, friendly reception staff. We had to wait for the room as it wasn't ready at 13.30, fair enough. Room (Premium Suite) was being 'prepared' for us. Buggy to room (very friendly chap) and things seemed fine at first, stunning view.||However, not long before we started noticing things were not as they should be. ||1. Fridge mini-bar was empty and stank. Didn't seem to have been in use for a long time. It was filled but not cleaned. We ended up having to wash water bottles in the sink as everything was smelt contaminated. |2. Rainwater shower. The diverter system from one function to another was stuck fast. Never fixed.|3. TV in living area had sound only. Reported but never fixed. |4. Safe was an antique. |5. Balcony door so stiff my wife could not open it, fixings rusty.|6. Guesswork as to which plug sockets work.||Once you notice the odd thing you can't help but spot other things around the hotel. Everywhere you look things are either broken or on their last legs, swimming pool with lots of tiles missing, garden walls close to falling over. ||The general term to describe this hotel would be 'tired and uncared for' but not the gardens and grass, these were very well cared for.||The few staff in the restaurant were out of their depth, lovely but lacking training or supervision . Too few for even the small number of customers. I don't want to see staff running from table to table panicking. Each order had something wrong, they didn't even have order pads! Waitress searching pockets for a scrap of paper to write down orders. ||Breakfast was chaos. Certainly not busy but finding a clean table was difficult. ||The Vietnamese food was good as was the Street Food Buffet but the rest we tried was poor. Really poor. ||As we had a late afternoon flight I asked about a late check-out. The young man at reception was just looking into it before a senior member just interrupted and said the hotel was full and it was not possible, without even looking or asking what room we were in. A quick look at several booking websites showed this was not the case, same room was available to book. If hotel policy is not to allow late check-out then fair enough, no problem. Just don't lie to me!||Lobby coffee bar, never any staff available. ||The fact that the hotel is very isolated was not an issue as it was expected.||Management and ownership need a kick up the proverbial. More trained staff and improved maintenance is needed. ||Not worth the money. We couldn't wait to leave. Very, very...
