Celebrated my mum’s birthday in this quaint beautiful resort. If you are travelling with an elderly or someone with mobility issue, May want to consider the flights of stairs in this resort (or any other sapa resorts for that matter). We did struggle a little but despite that, our stay in Mong Village was amazing. I’ll say it is a 10/10 for me! ||I was out looking for a different kind of resort in the first place - one that is less mass market, cozy and relaxing. This one checked all boxes! The design of the resort was very quaint - landscaping was done really well and the bungalows look enchanted especially on foggy days. We love the views, the weather, the super clean rooms, and the wonderful mattress (pillow was a lil too soft for my liking but the mattress is awesome). They have heater at night too, to keep the room warm and inviting. For someone who loves my peace and quiet, the rooms were nicely tucked away with a great view - we could stay in all day! My only regret was not getting into the (heated - yes heated!) pool. Wished I did!||Service was excellent too! A big thank you to the lady in charge of the restaurant, and her team too, for always greeting us with smiles and kind words. And biggest thank you goes to Oriana for always being there on WhatsApp for us - we love how prompt your team is with everything and thank you too for the massage recommendation, tickets booking, the laptop charger and the birthday teas! It’s a lot of steps to take but your staff were always so fast in helping us out with the wifi, bags and all! Amazing! They were also super helping in helping my mum out with the steps - she was absolutely appreciative of their kind gestures.||Location wise, it is not in the main town if that is one of your consideration. However, getting to town via metered taxi costs only about less than 100k vnd - absolutely worth it if you like your tranquility more! ||Dinner in the resort was better than the breakfast - from my point of view. The sturgeon hotpot on our first night was very nice especially when we are having it on a cold night. Breakfast menu was the same throughout the 5 days I stayed - perhaps the resort can consider switching up the menu or alternate your menu every other day. But that said, breakfast range was sufficient - from eggs, pho, noodles, bread to salads, cereals and local Vegetables. ||I love the resort as it is - just some additional suggestions for the resort team to up your game even more! |- could consider installing some handrails on the walls if you want to make it more elderly friendly |- the bridge near the restaurant is really slippery esp on rainy days. Perhaps can make it flatter -...

Read moreSituated outside of Sapa Town, The Mong Village & Spa necessitates daily transportation for any excursions. However, its secluded location from the village center provides a stunning view, offering a peaceful escape from the incessant car honking.
Pros: The breathtaking view is widely acknowledged, with the resort perched on the brink of a rice terrace, and all rooms oriented toward the sunrise. This was the only redeeming quality of the stay.
Cons: The service quality is mediocre, every conversation feels transactional. When seeking advice on alternatives not offered by the resort, such assistance is notably absent. An instance is the attempt to procure VND50,000 per person minivan tickets from Sapa Town to Lai Cai Station. The recommended solution was an exorbitant USD190 per trip taxi from the hotel to Lai Cai Station. Even if it wasn't a service that they offered, it would be nice to be given that information so we could decide the best alternative for our budget. Additionally, bathroom plumbing issues result in an unpleasant odour permeating the room. Poor soundproofing amplifies disturbances, making it seem like your own door is opening or closing when neighbors enter or exit. Breakfast options lack variety. Individuals facing mobility challenges should consider seeking alternative lodging options.
While the resort provides hiking tours with English-speaking guides from local ethnic minority groups, the associated fees are excessively high. A quick search online revealed alternative hiking companies in Sapa Town offering similar tours at half the price. We almost took up a trekking tour with the resort for USD60 per person but then we found a similar trek in Sapa Town for USD32 per person. Both options include a guide, bottle of water and lunch.
In summary, the stay was decidedly mediocre—neither bad nor exceptional. Exploring other retreats or resorts, such as Sapa Clay House with equally amazing views, would be...
