Lucky Budda Inn Villa Hanoi — Hotel in Hà Nội

Hey world, This is in detailed review of this place. Please read it before you choose to stay here. There is reason why this review is super long. We booked this place for 3 nights for our last days in Vietnam. And we had an horrible experience there. (We had to booked because, there were not a single stay available in central of Hanoi) -The host is bad person we ever met in our whole Vietnam trip, felt bad for us that we met such person in our last couple of days in this beautiful country. He is super rude and fraud. After booking when we were roaming around the old quarter, looking for Ha long trip booking, when we told them we are staying here, many told us about him. That we shouldn’t stay there, he is know for bad behaviour and bad service. -Once you book, he keep texting you, asking when you are reaching, where have you reached. And he made us feel bad for reaching late. And we reached late because our bus got delayed. -The scam, the room which we had book and the room which we got are different. One room was correct but the other one was totally scam. It was showing one lake facing room, but in the morning when we woke up we only saw walls all around, so he have us different room. And when we asked about the same. He came and showed us, dirty indoor pool which is there inside the villa and said this is the lake. Hahaha. I thought he was joking but the he tried to sell this concept to us for good 10 min. That’s how our morning started in this beautiful city. After arguing for half n hour, he ready to gave us upgrade but not late view room, just a bigger room that’s it and keep telling us that, he have upgrade for us for free 😂 hahaha :) joke. And for that he made us cancel the online booking and asked us to send mail from our inbox saying we are cancelling the stay, when we draft the real reason to cancel the booking he refuse to sent such mail. And said if we do so, he can’t do anything about the fraud room scams which he had done with us. -In out 3 nights, 4 days stay there he replaced the towel only once for us. That too only two towels between six of us. Next day when we asked for towel you’ll laugh at the reason which he gave, “Our guest are usually European tourits .they rarely use hotel towels .so we don't have any towels” that’s exactly what his words, not kidding 😂 -cherry on the top, while leaving we wanted to keep the luggage downstairs, As a backpacker traveler we do that always if you bus/flight is in the evening we do checkout on time and keep luggage at corner to pick later. But this guy refuse to do that too. Again fraud saying the entire hotel is book and you can’t keep luggage. -The Jimmy and the lady both are very rude and equally bad as a person and as a host. Writing this because I feel, no one should face what we had faced. Feeling sad for leaving county...

Not quite what we were expecting – disappointing experience overall

We booked this accommodation through Booking.com based on a listing that stated the room included a TV—ours did not. Perhaps other rooms do, but we were in the front room on the third floor, and it was noticeably absent. On a positive note, the room was nicely decorated, there’s a pool on the lower floor, and it’s conveniently located within walking distance of a mall with a movie theatre and a decent-sized supermarket.

Unfortunately, that’s where the positives ended for us.

Upon arrival, we were left standing outside for 30 minutes trying to contact the female host. When she eventually showed up, she was unwelcoming and remained unfriendly throughout our entire stay.

Our room had a persistent leak in the ceiling. It was clear this had been an ongoing issue, as mineral crystals had formed around the leak and the floor tiles were worn and pitted from constant dripping.

The listing also claimed the room was soundproof, but this wasn’t the case. A rooster across the road reliably woke us every morning from 4 a.m. to 8 a.m., and even with earplugs, sleep was nearly impossible. We were offered a room at the back of the building, but were told it wouldn’t make a difference—as even Jimmy, the male host, could hear the rooster from his side.

Jimmy was one of the few highlights—friendly and approachable. Unfortunately, every time we interacted with him, the female host would loudly scold him in Vietnamese in front of us, which made for an incredibly uncomfortable atmosphere.

To top things off, during checkout we were confronted—again, by yelling—from the upstairs room as our place was being inspected. We were told we had to pay for one beer and one water, even though a previous review stated they were complimentary. The markup was steep compared to local store prices. We opted not to pay the inflated charge and instead replaced the drinks ourselves for a fraction of the cost.

In summary, while the location and decor were decent, the experience was tainted by poor communication, uncomfortable interactions, misleading details in the listing, and unresolved maintenance issues. Unfortunately, we would not recommend...

The host in this hotel is husband and wife may be. And they are the worst people in entire vietnam. We came across so many people in vietnam and every one is so kind and welcoming. Even after huge language barrier, however this couple are the worst. About the stay the bed does not have mattress it has a normal sponge and only a bedsheet on it. And bed makes noice as if its broken. When we asked about the mattress the host said that is all we have. Also they mentioned they have a lake view rooms which is not true. The lake is only visible from terrace. When we complained about the room the host canceled our booking and he asked us to put the reason as "we changed our plan" in the email. On the last day our check out time was 11am, we checked out at 8 am and asked him if we can keep the luggage in the lobby for few hours and will directly leave for airport. But they straight away denied. They do not have fans in rooms only ac. Which takes lot of time for cooling. Also then swiming pool is indoor swiming pool which is not as it looks in photos it is very unclean. We stayed there for 3 days as we had already paid in advance and they did not provide us fresh towels and the reason he gave was. We only have european guests and they do not use towels so.... PLEASE DO NOT BOOK THIS WORST PLACE. IT IS...
