My friends and I booked a 4 day, 3 night Halong and Hanoi package/tour and the first night we were staying in this hotel. I understand that I speak minimal Vietnamese, and they speak a slightly different dialect, but they didn't even make an effort to try and understand what I was saying or answering any of my questions. The one question I was able to get out, this girl (who had headphones in the whole time) told me to call a number but then refused to give me the business card with the number on it. They told me they would take care of it and that I should go wait in my room for them to tell me what is going on. We waited for an hour and got hungry so my friends and I left to get food, and when we came back some other girl gave me a post it with the same number the headphone girl wanted me to call and said they have no idea what our tour is supposed to be. I called the head of the tour agency (not affiliated with this hotel), and he apologized and would take care of everything. The next day someone from the tour company called the hotel to speak with me, and headphone homegirl just busted in our room without knocking and proceeded to hand me a phone number and told me to call. She stood there waiting until I called and then asked what was happening, as if it mattered to her. Then she walked out and didn't even shut the door. So then we checked out and sat in the lobby for our ride to get here. The worst hospitality staff I have ever...
Read moreHotel room was fairly average, AC worked and wifi was ok but not sure the bed sheets were clean and bathroom very basic. No one at the hotel speaks any English at all, not even questions like 'how much does this cost?'. We didn't book this hotel we booked a different one but on arrival they said they were full and sent us here. Haven't seen a single soul since we arrived and there seemed to be construction work going on inside the hotel from the early hours which was annoying. Also some one, either a guest or member of staff repeatedly tried to get into our locked room between 6-8am, I'm not sure why but repeatedly tried the door handle whilst we were trying to sleep. Wouldn't stay again glad it was only...
