A Hidden Gem in the Heart of Bai Chay – Retro Homestay Ha Long I had a truly pleasant stay at Retro Hotel during my visit to Ha Long. The location is unbeatable—right in the center of Bai Chay, making it incredibly convenient to explore the area. Whether you’re heading to the beach, the night market, or catching a cruise, everything is just a short walk or ride away. Although the building itself is older, it’s been beautifully maintained and thoughtfully refreshed by the new owners under the charming name “Retro Hotel.” The vintage vibe adds character, and the cleanliness and upkeep are impressive. The owners, who I believe are a husband-and-wife team, were exceptionally kind and welcoming throughout our stay. Their warmth made the experience feel more personal and homely. Breakfast was simple but consistently delicious—clearly made with care, and a lovely way to start each day. If I return to Ha Long, I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. Retro Hotel offers comfort, convenience, and genuine hospitality—all at a great value.
