My brother, my friend and I got a fond memorable stay at Mai Chau Sunset Boutique Hotel. We got a tripple room with wonderful view to the rice filed and moutains. This room has a small terrace where you can sit down and contemplate the view. I have enjoyed laying down in my bed, overlooked to the valley, moutains, trees and felt like I am laying in the middle of the valley. ||||We have followed the recommendations from a review for this hotel on Tripadvisor and tried the food at the sister restaurant just nearby. The "ca tram om mang" and grilled garden chicken (ga di bo) were really good indeed and we all loved them (Thanks to Tien n, from Hanoi for your review here that helped us know). We also tried the beef and some other dishes that all were good. We felt like eating at home. ||||The hotel offered free bycles, we have driven around the town and enjoyed the beautiful landscape of the rice fileds and the moutains. Most of people lived there were Thai minority people. We were impressed with their good personality, so honest, relaxing and nice. We bought great souvenirs in the village nearby at cheap price. One special thing about shopping here is you do not have to bargain, since they are very honest. Try the BBQ Lon Ban (Village Pork) near the shops. It was special and very yummy.||||We enjoyed the adventure 1-day trekking/hikking tour with Chim. His sister was lovely and made great Me Rim (tamarind jam). And the end of the tour, when we returned to the hotel, we were surprised that the hotel offered us the Sunset cocktails. Such a lovely gesture! The alcohol came late so we got the cocktails at dinner but we have memorable time to view the fantastic sunset from their sunset bar. ||||Overall, we were very happy with Mai Chau Sunset Boutique Hotel and highly recommended. We would like to take this opportunity to thank to Mr. Mao, the hotel owner for arranging the transportation from Hanoi and via versa for us, Chim, our tour guide, the lovely ladies at Reception who were gracious, sweet and made us feel welcome. Special thank to the lady at the restaurant (Mrs. Thuy? sorry I forgot her name) and her staff who have cooked wonderful meals for us. ||||Thanks again and see you if we return to Mai Chau....
Read moreMai Chau Sunset Boutique Hotel is a comfortable hotel for your visit to Mai Chau. The service from the staff is fairly basic, but you have to keep in mind that you are well away form the sophistication of hotels in the bigger cities of Vietnam. The room was large and the bed comfortable. Everything is quite tired. There were cracked tiles in the bathroom, the basin had a crack in it, there was a stain on the walls, possibly from a leak from the bathroom or from a drip from the air conditioner. The breakfast was okay. The outlook from the room is over padi fields; however, directly below the balcony is a bit of a rubbish tip (not smelly). however, I would suggest that to name the hotel a 'Boutique' hotel is a misnomer as from our experience there was nothing particularly special about the rooms or the hotel itself that set the hotel apart from other hotels. The special comes from the location of the hotel in the village of Mai Chau itself. All said Mai Chau Sunset 'Boutique' Hotel is totally adequate for a stay...
Read moreBooked two nights, was assigned a room that was not what we booked, told it's ok they are all the same, had a hole in the bathroom wall so bugs and mosquitoes could get in, asked to move and was given a worse room, not clean and smelling. Decided we would stay elsewhere as the room wasn't what was in the photos, we were then told we had to pay 500k even though booking said free cancellation, the manager then called us on the phone and threatened to call the police if we didn't pay the money, eventually we stayed one night as we were forced too. Would never stay here again, the pictures do not match the rooms, definitely not...
