Please be aware that there are some safety issues in relation to the access to this homestay.
I understand that Sa Pa city has become a bit of a theme park in recent years. In my last visit 15 years ago none of the fancy restaurants, coffee places and beautiful buildings were there, and now more and more travellers are looking for a different experience and choose to stay in one of the many homestays away from the city that have popped up like mushrooms in recent times. However some of them have been built perhaps too fast without paying enough attention to safety considerations. La Beaute Sa Pa is a good example. To access the property you need to climb a very steep 45 degree ramp, the first section of about 20 meters has a narrow set of stairs on the side with barely enough space for your feet, and more dangerously, the last 5 metres don't have any steps at all, just a ramp which when it rains becomes very slippery. Unfortunately I found out the hard way, despite being very careful, I slipped on the way down and in a fraction of a second I found myself flying through the air and landing a good couple of metres below on the side of the ramp. Luckily I didn't hit my head but I still injured myself, a partial fracture of the radius of my right arm together with tendon / ligament injuries, recovery time at least 1 month.
I have written to let them know that they should fix this, but for now be aware that the risk of an accident is real, and if you are unlucky it can ruin the rest...
Read moreI stayed here together with my girlfriend for almost 1 week, while the weather was mostly cloudy and a bit cold. Even tough the place doesn't has a central heating, it's so comfortable to stay! Why? They do have heating blankets! 😍 As soon as the weather got more sunny, the real beauty of this place comes alive! It's not far away from the waterfall on the other side of the valley, from where you can do a pretty nice walk/hike up the mountain and along the valley, with a return over the dam. And the best? To relax on the big stone in front of La Beauté with the sun in your face ☀️ The views up and down the valley are incredible and it's a great place to calm down. They even offer a cooking class, which we can definitely recommend! Their springrolls are the best! 😍 The meals are really yummy (maybe a tiny bit more expensive than cheap local restaurants - but far away from being overpriced) as well as freshly cooked. They might ask you to order it in advance, to get all the ingredients - and if you come back from a hike or whatever and the dinner is almost ready... it's amazing!
But as always...the best memories are always with the people. And the staff here was just lovely! We got welcomed in the middle of the night, had so many funny moments with them, played some of the boardgames they have and are really grateful for that time! 💯
That being said...if you want to have a relaxed stay and a good amount of fun...what do you...
Read moreLa Beaute Sapa is a beautiful homestay nestled in the foggy hills of Sapa. It is about half an hour away from the main Sapa town letting us soak in the tranquility of the hills.
Huong, our host made sure that we were comfortable right from the start. She helped us figure out our transport to her stay, gave us a rough itinerary that we could follow to explore sapa. She even bought us the fansipan rope way tickets in advance and helped us bypass the long queues. There are beautiful trails by the river to explore around the homestay. We even had some insightful interactions with our co-guests.
Our stay had all the basic facilities done right. It was clean and hygienic. Huong also gave a nice home cooked local dinner which was a relief after all the food we have had from the restaurants outside. The walls of the rooms were slightly thin due to which noise was being carried across easily, although I wouldn't really complain of the same.
Homestays are more special when the hosting is done right from their heart. Huong and her team were all heart and more.
Would definitely recommend this place to anyone who is looking to soak up the...
