this hotel should be rated 3 star instead of 4 star.
there is no proper reception area, the reception desk is in a restaurant. guests waiting for their room to be ready had no where to wait but the restaurant. the waiter came to us thrice asking us if we need to order anything. after waiting for several hours the waitress served us chilled tea. this makes us think that the ploy of making us wait is to get us to order something while we wait. a 4 star hotel would have served us tea when we arrived. they would also have a proper reception area to receive guests.
the hotel does not have a designated lift, we have to share the lift with other muong thanh apartment residents. our hotel room is on the 29th floor and that is a long wait of 10 minutes at least before we can reach our hotel room.
the hotel does not have back up power, so we experienced blackout twice during our 2 week stay. the black out lasted for more than 2 hours. the other block still had power on.
on the first day, we were given a room that was not as per the picture shown on agoda. the hotel owner kept saying that they do have the room but it is for 3 people not 2. we had booked the room because of the magnificent view from the bed. but we got a room with the view of a balcony instead. luckily we were given the room we requested on the second day.
the house keeping is not professional enough. sometimes they would not provide complimentary coffee and tea. they would also forget to top up the shampoo and body wash. their housekeeping time is haphazard, sometimes in the morning sometimes in the afternoon, instead of being consistent like 10am to 12 pm in the morning for our level.
the hotel room does not have a bathtub where a 4 star hotel should have, it is so cramp that you need to move to a certain position in order for the door to open fully to enter and exit.
a 4 star hotel should have a swimming pool. this hotel doesn't.
above are the 7 reasons this hotel should be only rated 3 stars.
the room we wanted had magnificent views of the sea, beach and the city. we can even see ponagar temple. if not for the bad first impression, we could easily overlook the shortcomings and rate it 5 stars. too bad for the lousy...
Read moreThis Hotel is not a classic hotel. It is a restaurant who rented or bought apartments in the building next to the restaurant. So lobby of the hotel is actually in the small restuarant where you have barely have space to move. Stuff in the lobby doesn't speak English or very little what is not okay if you work in Hotel with 90% with tourists. Anyway stuff told me to wait because my room is not ready, 15min maximum. Okay, I was waiting 30min and asked again, they told me to still wait. I was waiting 2h in total and asked again what is going on with my room and stuff said your room was ready 2h ago. That is not how you treat guest who just came from a very long trip, wants to eat and take a shower. I was not the only one who was waiting, two more families was waiting maybe longer then me.
Second bad experience was with payments. Before I booked this hotel I saw on their profile that they accept visa cards. I wanted to double check before booking and asked about visa and got answer that they are accept, of course.. Ok, I was pissed off and chatted with manager on the booking app and tell them how I was waiting 2 hours and ask JUST FOR A CASE again do they accept visa cards because I don't bring cash and I pay only with card. She said of course we accept. When was the time to pay of course they doesn't accept any type of cards and they told me that they don't want to give me back passport untill I pay with cash. I pay with cash of course so I can get my passport back but that cost me extra money to withdraw with huge commision of bank and ATM so I literally paid room more then it should be. I recommend if you badly want to book this hotel to pay in advance and avoid any communication with stuff because you will be screwed in some point for sure. Nobody speaks English and for everything they say yes and for later, who knows they don't care. It is important for them to take money. Very bad experience, avoid this Hotel if you can, there is...
Read moreI liked this hotel. It actually has 5 star potential. However a few things need to be addressed. First may I say I found the staff to be kind and helpful. The room are nice for the price. However 2 things kind of upset me. The first thing is when something breaks you are told it will be fixed but days later it won't be. Even after asking 3 different times. Secondly, the maid. There were 2 of them and while one was perfectly fine the second one had an attitude as soon as the door opened. She would stare at me and start laughing. She'd start saying things in Vietnamese to he coworker and without knowing the language I knew she was degrading me. I don't know why but it was very obvious. I started to just take the water from her and tell her not to clean. She'd go through my trash in front of me and start showing things to the other maid and just start laughing. I travel a lot and this was a first for me. Lastly, I was there for 4 weeks. She left coffee 3 times. Shampoo and bath gel 3 times. All I 4 weeks. I don't know if she takes it home or if the hotel gives her a bonus to not leave it but that was her way of doing things. I always tip maids and I did the first couple of nights until I realized she wasn't leaving anything and I quit. I went out and bought shampoo and coffee as I could see I couldn't rely on her for anything. Her attitude alone cost the review 2 stars and if she keeps this up with other guests they need to look at...
