Very bad experience!!!!
I'll start with the good points, the room is very small but okay to get some sleep. Great size TV if that's your thing. The AC works well and so does the hot water. Th room is in need of a paint job and some maintenance but apart from being small it's bearable for one night. The location is close to the beach and plenty of bars and shops around. I wouldn't stay in this area for more than one night personally.
The bad points started when I arrived, the location is not as shown on google maps and I couldn't find anything on the reservation or a message to tell me where to go. I found it after reading other reviews. The foyer and reception on the 8th floor are chaos and covered in dirt and grime. It's pretty much a presidential apartment block with bicycles, shoes and laundry in the hallways.
The listing on Agoda says it's a new build and I can assure you it's anything but that. There are also no facilities what so ever!!! If you want to use a pool or gym they are available for a fee in another building. When I complained to the manager that this is false advertising they just said it says so on a different website to the one I booked with. There were children jumping in my face like a scene from the movie...
Read moreI was staying there for 6 weeks. Room 802. The only good about this hotel was the view. Most disappointed was the A/C. They don’t maintain it. Too hot and had to run for 24/7 to meet the temperature we wanted. I asked and they refused to fix the problem. They talked to me like I’m an idiot doesn’t know anything about the A/C when I’m an American who live in A/C 24/7. I had to pay a lot of money compare to the regular electric price in Vietnam (they charged different price). They refused to fix the light in the living room and it went out the whole trip. The ceiling and wall paint came off since the day we walked into the apartment. Microwave broken. Electric stove broken. Even the door knob was broken. Bad experience. I had to stay because I signed a contract without noticing all the problems. I was in the US that time so I didn’t check the whole thing. Just believed and it was a good lesson for me. I wouldn’t recommend to my friend and family. And will never go back to...
Read moreI cannot recommend the Maro Hotel and Restaurant at all. Even before our arrival, getting in touch with management was a nightmare—no one was reachable by phone for over two weeks. Once there, the stay proved equally disappointing: not a single mention was made that there was some mysterious “reception” on the 8th floor or that there even was a so-called “restaurant,” which we never managed to find.
The worst issue, however, was financial: more than 4 million Dong were withheld from us because we were forced to leave two weeks earlier due to the unbelievably poor service. We only managed to get our deposit back by pure coincidence—running into the staff member who had originally given us the key in the elevator. Without that chance encounter, we wouldn’t have received our deposit at all.
All in all, this was one of the most disastrous hotel experiences we’ve ever had—unprofessional, opaque, and simply...
