I have been so impressed with every hotel we have been at so far this trip. But I'm starting to think maybe there is only friendly service in the north. The service at this hotel was terrible from the start. The girl at the front desk was unaccommodating, kept telling us we either needed to leave our passports with them or pay $100 US even though the credit card is on file since they charged the room 3 days prior to us even arriving. No receipts for anything that we pay. We asked where we could get food, "closed" was the answer we received. No apology, no direction elsewhere. She just kept saying no, closed. We ended up walking around the corner and going in Fairy bay hotel where even though we are not guests at that hotel, they helped us with finding breakfast, and calling a taxi for us. Ocean bay hotel has no door men, you are on your own to get from the lobby to your room, the rooms are very old, old tv, old AC that does not work, old creaky fan, bath tub with a non functioning shower attachment. After our hotels in Hanoi and Hoi an, all priced similar, we have been appalled by this hotel. I don't know how this hotel has anything but 1 star. I would never recommend this hotel. If we could cancel this room and go elsewhere we could. Our taxi driver even said that we are paying way too much for this hotel. You can pay less to actually be on the...
Read moreMy stay at this hotel would be extremely very pleasure til the very last minute. Hotel's facilities were very nice, modern. It's quite far away from the busy town but having nice view of beach from the room (if you book the VIP one) even it's not so clear as close to beach. The staffs were very supporting and nice, they provided me very useful information about travelling around Nha Trang. In overall, I was very pleased until the very last minute. The story is when I checked out already and stood outside the hotel to arrange my packages be ready to leave, I suddently heard one of the receptionists commented about my look as well as what part of my body look not ok as well as making a joke on me because they thought I left. Well, perhaps because I can understand Vietnamese then it would make me feel a bit uncomfortable about their rude behavior (fake kindness) and turned my impression about this hotel to be down a bit.||||So, if you don't understand Vietnamese as having a perfect body then I suppose you can feel free to stay here, otherwise, maybe you can consider before making...
Read moreStayed @ this hotel in November 2009 recommended by a friend. The hotel was a little far from the city and the busy streets of Nha Trang, however, a cab ride/motorbike ride is less than 10 minutes away. ||||The hotel is very clean and new. The rooms are clean, the bed sheets were cleaned, TV in the bedroom with great selection of channels. Bathroom had it's own bath tub and was clean. When we stayed, it was fairly new so we were one out of few guests staying in the hotel so it was quiet and dark (lights were mostly off on our floor because I think we were the only guests on that floor). Staff is extremely nice and helpful - always recommending to us where to go or where to eat. They will call taxi's for you when you need. Rooms are also very conditioned!||||Wireless would not work very well on our floor unfortunately but I was told that it was free.||||Will stay here again when I return in...
