I had the pleasure of staying at Cay Sao Beach Resort for one night, and overall, it was a peaceful and refreshing experience. Located on the east side of the island, it’s in a quieter area, perfect for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle of the touristy streets. If you enjoy tranquility and serenity, this is the place for you. However, if you prefer more activity and a livelier atmosphere, this might not be the best choice.

The stilted bungalows are comfortable, clean, and well-maintained. The resort and its gardens are cleaned daily, giving the place a fresh and welcoming feel. While the resort offers dining options, I found the dinner a bit underwhelming, possibly because I chose the wrong dish (I’m a fan of spicy food, and they didn’t really have that).

The beach is quite small and not ideal for swimming, so if you’re looking to swim or sunbathe by a larger beach, this might not be the best option. However, I recommend renting a motorbike (an automatic for 180,000 VND or a semi-automatic for 120,000 VND), which makes it easy to explore other areas of the island.

The resort is also a great base to visit other spots on the island. On a hot day, the well-maintained pool is a perfect place to cool off. Overall, I would recommend Cay Sao Beach Resort to anyone seeking a quiet and relaxing stay in a...

Our journey in Vietnam started with a week at Cay Sao Beach resort, which was absolutely great!!

The cabins are perfectly build, nice and clean! We stayed in one of the two cabins closest to the sea, which offered us a nice private space on the balcony, which we really valued.

The resort is small size and cosy, perfectly maintained and looks great with the tropical nature and the sea.

But the most amazing parts were the people and the food! Many thanks to Nyny and her whole family for the great help with basically everything! The food was absolutely amazing, and that good that we had dinner here almost every day! We could easily do our laundry and rent a motorbike to explore the island.

We could ask Nyny to book trips for us, and they were offering their own transfer services.

Absolutely recommended to stay here a while and relax!!

Wonderful place for a relaxing stay. The family running everything is so friendly and helpful! They both picked us up from and dropped us off at the airport for arrival and departure. They also had multiple motorbikes for rent there, which was great for riding to the nearby towns. There is delicious home cooking at a fair price, and an assortment of drinks in a cold fridge. They also provided great tips for tasty local restaurants. If we had any issue during our stay, they were always quick to assist. Unfortunately it rained very much during our visit due to a typhoon in the North, but we nevertheless had a wonderful stay at Cay Sao...

This is not a beach resort! There is a man-made piece of sand in the garden, where you can play volleyball. This is not a place for a beach holiday. I’ve booked a bungalow with sea view, but it was closer to the main road. I heard passing cars and not waves. The sea is so shallow you can’t swim. It’s remote and Grab doesn’t operate in the area. The bathroom was covered in mould. The toilet seat was disgusting. The towels and the bedlinnen were stained. The bungalow was badly maintained. There were just a few guests and lots of staff, but they didn’t manage to empty garbage bins or take care of fresh towels. Loved the garden and butterflies.

We stayed here in April and had a wonderful time. You have an open view over the sea that let‘s you enjoy a stunning sun rise early in the morning. After which you cab take a nap in one of the hammocks and enjoy a freshly made breakfast. If you want you can enjoy the noon at the beach under one of the grest palm trees. In the afternoon you are welcomed to rent a scooter and go out exploring/ esting out. Alternatively, there is lunch and dinner at the resort.
