We are in love with this place. ||This is a one off perfect experience in Vietnam. |We booked 2 days at rocks beach & I couldn’t be any happier. We knew that we were coming to an over water bungalow which is a hide-away and to make the most of it.||I have no complaints. If you know you are coming to a water bungalow, you are getting so much more. It’s the experience and important to know this versus expecting luxury. ||Water bungalows for two. Air con & ceiling fan more than perfect. Bathroom with hot shower, sink and large size. All very nice. We keep air con on high to avoid insects which is standard anywhere you go in these bungalows. Nice seating area & places to sit outside bungalow. Cold fridge with free soft drinks, really nice touch. We didn’t swim in the water above the bungalow as the official swimming pools were perfect. We saw people swim in the|Bungalow water but it’s up to you. It’s not the main thing so it’s up to you if you feel the water in the swimming pool is far cleaner. ||Pools- I was shocked at how big the pools are. |They are really good. Clean and beautiful. Plenty places to lounge on sun beds. ||Drinks and bar - perfect selection. Plenty cocktails, drinks and open great hours.||Dinner - the menu was perfect for us. Pastas, pizzas, meat, stir fry noddles. Large fish menu & fine for vegetarian. We came here to relax, enjoy the life & enjoy a one off place. Tip- you can dine outside with the waves behind you & for special moments, they had a single 2 person table on the rocks on your own. Open and close times very good. ||Breakfast- fresh fruits, eggs, breads, toasts, and eastern foods. Breakfast served in great location.||Location-20 mins taxi transfer from airport. We came to relax and chill so it’s fine. |Reception are so helpful. Well done. Helped us lots. ||We cannot thank the hosts enough. 6 stars. Welcomed us so much. Also helped us to find beautiful places outside &...

The place is really beautiful at first sight and some of the staff tries hard to be kind and I'm very thankful to some of them. But... I broke my leg during my stay at the hotel. There is a ramp at the entrance full of herbs and mud/mold that got me to slip there and break my leg. The staff tried to assist me, getting me a taxi and getting me to the hospital (despite the fact that I ended up at four different facilities on the same day because they didn't know where to take me); they told me they would pay for the initial treatment and taxi on the spot. Two days later (I was stuck at the hotel with a cast on my leg and walking on crutches), they asked me for 70 euros for the taxi (that they said they were paying for) and the manager was really awful and arrogant about it, refusing any kind of responsibility from the hotel. I had to change hotels while waiting for my flight back home because I couldn't spend any more time in that environment. Some of the staff tried to be helpful, but only one of them spoke a bit of English, and it was really difficult to communicate every time there was a problem. Most of the time, they couldn't help. Even simple things like asking for an invoice or even for toilet paper are difficult tasks. Most of them don't look happy on the job either. The place may be beautiful, but the hotel is in a remote area of the island, far from everything; the taxis the hotel calls are really expensive, and you can't catch a Grab from that part of the island. The sea may seem beautiful on a clear day, but it's full of mud and some parts close to the hotel are really dirty. -The pools could be cleaner. Sometimes the water for taking baths is cold. Breakfast time ends at 9am which is too early. The massage service isn't always available. The restaurant is expensive for the area and for the quality of the food, with narrow choices for...

This hotel is absolutely beautiful. We rented a villa on the water and it was stunning. I have read some negative reviews of this place, and would like to address 2 of the major complaints. The food/drinks being overpriced and bad I can partially confirm. We had drinks there and they were expensive and not well made. After that experience we didn’t roll the dice and eat lunch or dinner there. Breakfast was absolutely fine minus a cold coffee or two. As for staff not communicating or speaking English, we didn’t find that at all. Every staff we met had good to great English skills. I will say that in Vietnam everyone communicates via what’s app. I sent them an email about airport pick up and heard nothing, however once I used what’s app they were incredibly responsive. Again, this goes for all the businesses in Vietnam in my experience. I gave location 4 stars because it is far from everything and when we wanted to rent scooters we couldn’t so ended up paying for a grab (south east Asia Uber equivalent) everywhere which got pricey. This is an absolutely stunning place and would go back in a heart beat.

Reality is quite far from the photos. We stayed in the largest and most exclusive water bungalow and were expecting clear turquoise waters all around. Instead, strong winds brought muddy waters filled with floating rubbish. This is not the the fault of the hotel, but since there isn't even a way of getting up from the water to the bungalow you realise that you are probably not supposed to swim there. Which is a correct assessment since all the toilets of the bungalows empties straight down into the water in clear sight. You may try to reach the sea on a small patch of sand close by that staff rakes somewhat clean but all the rubbish ends up in plain sight next to it. This brings you to the pools which are nicely designed but lacked circulation and cleaning while we were there, likely due to technical malfunction. This made them just as non transparent as the sea but green instead of brown. Ants ate the pizzas and flies flocked on the sallads during breakfast. But all is not bad. Staff is kind, the bungalow is built with real materials and the outdoor restaurant is cozy and romantic.

Rocks Boutique Hotel has been an amazing quiet little haven for relaxation! They arranged a free airport transfer for us and also accommodated an early check in. The service is very good but not many employees speak good English. Most people speak no English at all, be prepared to have your Google translate app handy in order to communicate. Breakfast is very good with lots of variety. It closes a bit early though, it would be nice if it ended at 11am. Also, with how secluded the resort is it would be nice if they provided complimentary unlimited water or at least had an option to buy a bigger container instead of having to pay for each little bottle of water. It’s about a 7min scooter ride from a local convenience store/fruit stand/restaurant so we grabbed water that way but it is a bit of an inconvenience. The water is swimable, but quite murky and dirty. You cannot dive off your bungalow deck into the water because it’s only about a metre deep. This is a bit disappointing but even with suboptimal water it still provides a lovely surrounding environment with the sound of the waves.
