Stayed there for one night and it was a nice room with a minibar, tv, aircon and a balcony.
Overall a good hotel for a good price but upon arrival they didnt accept card payment. They also wanted to take my passport as a deposit, but I have had a bad experience doing this earlier so I asked to pay a deposit instead, which was fine for the receptionist.
Later during the day I asked if the reception was open 24/7 as I needed to check out at 5AM. The receptionist then said that they unfortunately didnt have anyone working that specific night when I was going to check out. Then I asked her how we should arrange the return of the deposit. She said she could look over the room and return the deposit right away. After this I went to dinner and when I returned, she said she would come to my room and check for damages and if we used the mini bar. (Mind you we stayed one night as stated)
When she came up she suddenly said that they could not give my deposit back after all, not until after I had checked out (meaning that I would have to checkout without getting my deposit)
I am a vietnamese person living abroad, so the receptionist asked if I had relatives or friends in Vietnam with a vietnamese bank account that they could transfer the money back to.
I immediately thought that this was out of line and way too unproffesional. What would they have done if I didnt have ties to Vietnam and was a regular tourist? And what would have happened if my passport was taken as a deposit instead? I asked her this and she started rambling on and saying stuff that wasnt making any sense. Had I been a regular tourist I wouldnt have gotten my deposit back, they have intentions of scamming people.
I was also told to just leave the key in the reception while the reception was empty and the entrance unlocked. What if someone got in and took the key and then I would get blamed? How can I as a guest trust that I would get my deposit back?
My point is that the guest shouldnt hold responsibility when the hotel didnt have anyone working in the reception. In my opinion I should have gotten the deposit back, but the receptionist was persistent in saying that they couldnt until someone came to work in the morning.
Luckily I have relatives in Vietnam and they received the deposit but only after I had several family members call the hotel to ask and make sure the deposit was returned.
Overall the situation could have been resolved better. Please learn how to manage a hotel.
The receptionist also booked us a taxi (she refererred to the driver as her friend) to the train station and said how much it would cost, turns out it was way more expensive..
Hope this doesnt happen to any...
Read moreDon’t stay here! We arrived at the hotel and the room was clean. However, upon arrival, they requested an ID or deposit, which is not common practice everywhere in Vietnam, indicating a potential scam. We booked a group tour for 200,000 per person, but were instead given a private tour the next morning and asked to pay 300,000. After insisting on the originally booked group tour, they reluctantly agreed, but later attempted to charge us the difference. When we received our laundry back, it had an unpleasant odor and numerous stains, ruining some of our shirts. We were offered a small discount as compensation. During check-out, the receptionist inspected our room and returned with a slightly dirty towel, claiming it was too soiled to wash and insisting we pay for it. This seemed like another attempt to recoup money from us for the tour. When I voiced my frustration, they threatened to involve the police. Be cautious when staying here, avoid using their laundry service, and reconsider booking tours...
