Mandahill Lodge — Hotel in Lusaka Province

Where to start?! First of all misleading advertising!!! Nothing is true...and do not be fooled by the phrase "luxury rooms"!!! It was the worst place we have ever stayed!! The bedding was dirty and torn, the tv didn't work, the shower head was so blocked no water came out of it, had to take shower head off to get some water out! No towels in rooms and when they brought, it was so dirty and smelled bad! The taps in basin was loose and shower curtains were disgusting and dirty! The bedside lamps in our room had broken plugs on them so we couldn't use it! The restaurant had no menu and all they had was chicken, t-bone and fish. The t-bone was actually chops!! The drinks was limited to beer, sprite and coke! This place is just very rundown and scary to stay at!! Its not worth any money to stay there, let alone KWA400!! It seems like no one has stayed there for months! This is a disgrace that they advertise all these things and when you get there its the total opposite! The ONLY positive thing was the friendly staff member...and maybe a working fridge and a working aircon! We got there very late after a long day of driving and didn't have a choice but to stay there! Couldn't wait to get up at 4:15am to leave!! Bottom line, do not ever ever...

We came here for maybe 10 times in 2010,2011 and 2012. In this years it was Ok, but it became worse and worse. The staff is trying their best, but the owner doesn't do a thing, even when you ask for her. The showers, taps etc. awful. Either broken or just missing. The breakfast is very poor and if you want something, you have to knock on the kitchen door for something. Dinner is very, very poor. I once bumped my head to a low having aircon. I was bleeding like hell and skin ripped of my head. The staff didn't do anything. Promised to replace the zircon (never happened). Also the aircons at the (outside) dining are terribly dangerous (sharp). Last time we were here (that was in April 2015 because all hotels were fully booked) we asked for a beer at the bar. "Sorry, we ran out of beer" A Coke? "Let's have a look...sorry we do not have", other soft drinks: No. Well at least give us a bottle of water..... Yes, you already guess...sorry we also ran out of water. ||Although it is not nice for the staff because it is their job: Please do not go there. In principal the place is nice but needs another more dedicated owner. I think the owner should sell it. For Lusaka this place...

Mandahill Lodge is located in the quiet neighbourhood of the Parliament, and thus near to Arcades and Manda Hill shopping centers. The access road passes villas hidden behind high walls and protected by electric fences, and palm trees in front, it is an interesting view. Definitely there should be more than 1 signboard along the access road. The Lodge offers several types of rooms, even a roomy suite. Each room is equipped with air-condition, TV and mosquito net above each bed. The bathrooms are either with shower or bathtub. Most rooms are large except number 11. Rooms and facilities are in need of maintenance, much could be achieved with a bit of paint and cleaning of the shower head so that water pours through all nozzles. Breakfast was supposed to be served at 7hrs but started at 8hrs, the English breakfast was good and sufficient. The staff is very friendly and helpful. There is wireless internet in all rooms. Nevertheless the rate at 80 US$ per night is steep but this is Lusaka where it is difficult to find decent accommodation at...
