Ingle Farm Recreation Centre — Local services in Adelaide

Absolutely disgusted by the recreation centre for their poor choice of umpires who work for them in the basketball sector. I saw a game tonight where a referee actually decided the outcome of the game. Why? Because the team took a foul (which is allowed) and he ruled it "unsportsman like" qll because this team had beaten his before. Just before that he had called an unsportsman like for the winning team intentionally TRIPPING the same player who fouled! And to make matter worse their was no foul call for a player driving to the basket and was tripped as well because "you dropped your head" because that player got tripped!!

This isn't a once off. There are good referees out there. Only a couple. The rest are horrible. They don't care at all. They ruin good games of basketball because someone might say "come on that was a foul" or "where was the call?"

It is getting ridiculous. My team is leaving the centre because there are other places who actually care about the teams there (cause you know.. they pay money to be there) qnd don't have officals who are rude, condescending, cheaters and people who threaten others.

I hope one day this shall be fixed, but i dont see it happening...

TRIED to play basketball here for many years, only to be met with a poor attitude from some of the officials towards people who are from 'different walks of life'... Discrimination I guess you could call it... Don't like that you have tatts, so you get bad calls... Don't like his hair; bad calls... Some of the excuses for the bad calls too... 'Sorry; I couldn't actually see that play'... Um aren't you a referee? Don't we pay you to see the play? So; a client (basketball team) pays a company (Ingle Farm Rec Ctr/Belgravia Leisure) for a service (officiating) and the service is sub-par and all the other paying customers are rolling in the benefits??? Unfair treatment maybe??? Poor choice of employees??? If you are referring to the "incredibly helpful" court supervisor who ignores (or is to deaf to hear) your questions, or referees Jan Vermeer, Brayden Nemeth and Liam Penney; then poor choice of employees is a gross understatement. Farcical; and I don't mean on occasions... Would have given no stars if I could. I will keep playing, but mostly because the staff are doing a lot to make sure that I cannot...

Took my 13 year old son and nephew to Friday skate and nephew was targeted by two kids the whole time. Reported it and the skate marshall says to me "Yeah we have lots of problems with these two", meanwhile these kids are also trying to intimidate me (constantly once they knew id reported them) while they stalk my nephew and trip him over. Pissed off. Should be a safe place for kids to be, but staff didn't care. Guess the bullies are regular paying customers? Nephew is on the spectrum and just rolled with them bullying him til he was physically attacked and then wanted leave quite obviously. Disgusted much. Not a safe place to take your kids, present or not! Am very local and won't be taking my son there...
