Have lived in the area, and settlers tavern has always been a regular for us. We haven’t been there since before the construction/renovations started. We came tonight with a big group, 7 adults and 7 kids. Spending a good amount of over $250 Service was the most upsetting tonight with the waitress being extremely rude, being told kids shouldn’t be getting kids eat free just because it’s a public holiday, even though we already are being charged a surcharge fee for the holiday and a fee for paying on card aswell. It hasn’t stated anywhere kids meals on a public holiday wernt free so the way the waitress was acting over it was very rude. If you aren’t wanting to do kids eat free on a public holiday then you should post it on your socials or have a sign stating it. Instead of your waitress trying to make us feel bad over it like we should be charged. Food has gone down hill a lot, the meals are no we’re near the same. Fish taste like it’s packaged fish from coles, southern fried tenders were a big favourite and now they are completely opposite. Paying $22 to make it a main meal just for three peices. Compared to what it use to be. All kids meals were returned as a cheeseburger for a kid coming out charcoal is just not on for kids, i under there meals aren’t going to be Gordon Ramsey meals but come on, it was like cardboard the meat patty aswell as the roll it was served on. Salad was basically a bowl of mixed lettuce. Was also charged extra for veggies but was given the option for veg or salad. Not understanding why we were charged for veg but not salad. Kids deserts, jelly seemed like it had been made and placed in a fridge for weeks it was so stiff and not enjoyable. Kids icreams was basically one teaspoon very small serving. The food we get can be a hit and miss while a new chef is learning but so many things were just not up to standard but the most upsetting part was really the service. Once we had ordered and been treated the way we’re was by your waitress, it was just appalling. I don’t think she should be serving customers at all with her attitude and rudeness. Very unpolite. Unfortunately we will not...
Read moreWe visited with family members. The name "Settlers" Hotel should have been a warning... we took it to mean new chums, but a more realistic interpretation would be pond scum that settles at the bottom . It took waiting in a queue of ten people to order, and then having to join another queue of 15 in a bar line served by one lass to order a coffee... resulting in dinner being served to our table, going cold and still hadn't been able to order a coffee. When the roast of the day (chicken ) arrived, it was a handful of cold cubes of what I supposed was meant to be roast potatoes, and a very small drumstick of shrivelled rubbery chicken attached to a small piece of thigh. All cold. The vegetable bar across the way was full of overcooked and barely warm stale vegetable matter. Some kind of stir fry veg, very watery and dissolved bits of cauli and broccoli and more of the cube sized piece of potato. Carrot and pumpkin and peas were also all over cooked and barely warm. Another person dining with us ordered beef schnitzel and was lucky to get the chips, but the schnitzel was rock hard, deep fried and over cooked. It looked like they fried up a lot in one hit and threw them under heat lamps. A truly horrible experience. Not enough staff, and vastly overpriced. We would have got better value getting fish and chips or chicken and chips at the local chippie. To be fair to the girls serving, there were no "stand here" signs for the bar line and she was unable to tell who was there first- only one girl making orders. Surely it would be cheaper to give away self serve coffee rather than pay a girl to make it on weekends- and far more stress free for patrons. Even better a coke can machine so we could all get a drink in time to eat our meal when it is served! I recommend a visit from the council to check the heat of the "hot" items in the self serve bar. the lukewarmness can hardly be healthy on vegetables left such...
Read moreWent to the website and sent an email to the manager about a bad experience and NO REPLY !! Went to the SETTLERS for a friend's 65th birthday . She ordered the warm chicken salad.... the chicken was overcooked, dry and tasteless the salad if you can call it a salad was shredded cabbage and carrot (like a coleslaw mix) on a bed of bitter lettuce. No tomato, cucumber etc which you expect for a salad ! It was inedible !! She returned it and all the waiter said was sorry THAT WAS IT NO OFFER OF REFUND OR REPLACEMENT. Absolutely no customer service provided and no return email so now I have posted our experience...... She left to get something to eat. My roast was really nice plenty of meat veggies and gravy. I did offer to share my meal but we assumed the kitchen would bring something out for her. NO DID NOT HAPPEN !!! I then went into the pokie room the guy sitting next to me got brought out a fancy latte he had ordered and told me at least you get a free made latte. So I went up to order a made hot chocolate and was handed a cup to go use the coffee machine I said I wanted one made like the guy next to me he said it would cost $3.50. I told him I wasn't going to pay So he pointed to the cup was rude and said something derogatory and walked off. I tried the hot chocolate in the coffee machine and it was disgusting!! Once again no customer service. The staff need to go to the Clovercrest hotel to learn excellent customer service
.A company is only as good as its staff !!
PS we did try and do the right thing and left a note in the tell us about your experience box with a phone number for them to contact us on AND NO REPLY So either (a) the note was removed by staff or (b) management...
