The Foodies Basket — Local services in Attadale

my partner and i recently (ish) moved to this beautiful neighbourhood and as we familiarised ourselves we were very happy to find a small, local grocer within walking distance. it has definitely been very convenient running for a knob of garlic or some other forgotten item!

we tried the "award winning" pies here a while ago and i wasn't disappointed at all. they were full of flavour, perfectly cooked and the gravy was runny, gooey and delicious. however; this wasn't to last. the past 4 pies i have bought have been almost inedible and ridiculously inconsistent in flavour, appearance and texture. the "gravy" has been coagulated in thick, gelatinous chunks, meat (steak) tough and well over-cooked and under seasoned and salted.

i am also disappointed as when my friend asked what vegetables specifically were in one of the pies, the girl behind the counter said, "i don't know, we don't make them".

furthermore; we enquired about some commonly sold products such as nit shampoo, gloves and isopropyl and were told 3 different things by 3 different employees.

this inconsistency is really disappointing and when it comes to food, dangerous and unacceptable. to have different ingredients on different days in THE SAME DISH and the staff know zilch about it as well as not even knowing BASE...

May I suggest, that it is time perhaps for serving staff to have ‘customers service’ training or a refresher. I was deeply offended to be ALLEGED THIEVING a bag of lemons!!

At the checkout , having paid for my goods, whilst carrying a bag of lemons ( to be given to the fish & chips next door) in the other hand, the boy asked me ‘if the lemons are from here’. AFTER, he said ‘we used different bags’. Confronting, perhaps he should ‘see’ FIRST, and ask AFTER? on noting my distress, he LATER ON apologised I went on asking if ‘he is taught to profile shoplifters’ eg. ethnicity, seniors/youths

I live in Attadale for years and have patronised the shop from its opening, often buying salad to go with the fish n chips especially the broccoli salad, cakes and cookies for morning teas. This time! I am so shocked at the INSENSITIVE manner / communication.

It will definitely be a conversation piece in...

Fantastic store with so many products to select from. I was really impressed as they carry a lot of international food brands that you can't buy from your big supermarket chains.

I haven't seen a good selection of gourmet foods like this since Stammers Palmyra was still in business.

They carry almost everything including a good selection of fresh meat, chicken and fish products. They also have a huge range of cooked foods available for a healthy, quick dinner.

Every time I shop here I always find a new product. Prices are very reasonable and the lady at the deli was super friendly...
