Golden Gate Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in Western Australia

Extremely disappointed with the poor level of customer service received from this restaurant tonight. We used to be regulars here when they opened for lunch on the weekends. The owners are lovely and were always accommodating and friendly. Unfortunately the new wait staff and front of house staff they had on tonight had a very poor level of customer service. One of the waitresses wrote down one of our meals incorrectly and then repeatedly argued that we had ordered the said incorrect dish. Eventually they returned with the correct order, but in an attempt to cover the costs for their stuff up, they decided to increase the dish amount per meal to accommodate for their mistake and subsequently not be at a loss due to her error. It is therefore deceptive and misleading conduct to engage in acts like these. The menu clearly states one price, yet they increased each dish by an additional $4.00 which was the complete opposite of what the printed menu stated. I don't understand how we paid more for chicken and beef dishes when the prawn dishes weren't even that expensive.

I would really encourage the owners to make contact with me to discuss the matter further and to advise why we were unlawfully charged a significant amount extra than what was stated in their printed menu. I would normally contact the Department of Commerce (Consumer Affairs) to investigate the deceptive misconduct matter, but as I believe the owners are probably unaware of the charges processed by their waitresses, will give the owner the opportunity to discuss my concerns with me first. I had been to this restaurant two or three times prior to this final vist, and had pretty much settled on it being my forever chinese restaurant, until one night I ordered enough food for dinner and lunch the next day. I deliberately left enough food on the plate to take away. I asked the waitress to package up the remaining food. I get to work the next day, and all I have to eat is rice and sauce!!! Normally very good (expensive but good). Ordered take away last night. Phone order - girl taking the order was hopeless. Spoke really fast and mumbled, and didn’t listen. I had to go through my order 4 times before she got it right. Ordered early, was told it would be 20 minutes. Went to pick it up 25 minutes later and was told it was still 15 minutes away. Ended up taking them almost 1 hour to cook my food. Then got home with 2 of the dishes missing.
