Thank you to Lee’s Bonsai World for going above and beyond to get a first anniversary gift to our son and daughter-in-law!
We live in Florida and our son and daughter-in-law live in Perth (she is Australian). They were married last November and since the traditional first anniversary gift is paper I decided I wanted to get them a melalueca (aka paper tree) bonsai as a gift. Melalueca trees were imported into Florida from Australia in the 1900’s to dry up swampy areas so developers could build (which didn’t work) and they only grow in south Florida. I liked the idea that the ‘paper’ tree bonsai would have a connection from where we live to our son and DIL in Australia.
I saw that Lee’s Bonsai World was only about a mile from the address I had for our son. They had been living in Sydney but moved back to Perth about 6 months ago. I contacted Lee’s through their Facebook page and they were kind enough to send me a photo of the melalueca bonsai they had. It was so cool looking! I loved it! We worked out payment and they agreed to deliver it as my son doesn’t have a vehicle suitable to transport it.
Here’s the part where Lee’s Bonsai World went above and beyond in customer service! The delivery was scheduled for Saturday morning. I made sure they were both going to be home but didn’t tell them what was being delivered. Lee’s delivered a perfectly wrapped package to what I thought was our son’s place and sent me a photo of the package outside the door with a message that said they had rung the bell and nobody had answered. I knew something was wrong and after messaging my son found out that I had the WRONG ADDRESS! Their place was actually a few miles away. They had looked at a few places but ended up choosing a different one than the address I had.
So my perfect plan for a nice anniversary gift was not going well at all. My son said he would drive to the other address and pick up the package (I was freaking out a bit at this time). By this time I had messaged Lee’s about the address mix up and they had taken the tree back to the nursery. My son then drove to Lee’s but realized he couldn’t fit the package/tree into his vehicle. Lee’s agreed to deliver the bonsai to our son’s correct address later in the day which was so awesome of them!
I believe it was the owner of Lee’s who ended up delivering the bonsai. Our son and DIL wanted to wait so we could Skype when they opened it as they are 13 hours ahead of us but the owner took the time to answer my son’s questions about if their back patio space was a good spot to put it and how to take care of it, etc.
They love the bonsai tree! Thank you so much to Lee’s Bonsai World for all their help in getting it to them! Couldn’t ask for better customer service or a more unique looking...
Read moreI often buy my flowers here. Unfortunately only the orchids ever last more than a few days. Usually the other flowers last about 5 days . Late Wednesday afternoon last week I went in looking for white flowers, my wife needed for a dinner party the next night. There was 1 bunch of small white roses. They looked a bit dubious but I was assured they were fresh and would still open. Needless to say by the next afternoon they were mostly drooping and beginning to die. As they were less then 24 hours old I went back to hopefully replace them. Being a regular customer I didn't think there would be a problem. Boy was I wrong. The regular and only person I ever deal with there refused to swop them (despite them costing $15). Be warned. Only buy orchids there and only if you can't get elsewhere. The other...
Read moreHusband and I bought a beautiful 10 year old bonsai from here today. Authentic family run shop, excellent customer service, lady was very helpful and attentive. Was given an aftercare sheet and told if we have any problems with the plant we can bring it back and they will help us with the care of the plant. Wouldn't get this kind of service at...
