The Great Court has long held the status of an iconic and beloved location at UQ, drawing students, tourists, and staff alike. Its vast expanse has been a magnet for leisurely strolls, gatherings, and even the occasional frisbee game or protest. However, recent developments have led to changes in its layout and accessibility.

The Great Court's grandeur has somewhat diminished due to the ongoing maintenance efforts. Various sections are now cordoned off, making it feel like a piece of this beloved space is always under construction or off-limits. While maintenance is necessary to preserve its beauty, it does disrupt the Court's seamless charm.

Nonetheless, the Great Court continues to be a central hub of activity and a symbol of UQ's vibrant campus life. Its unique blend of history and modernity makes it a must-visit location, despite the occasional inconveniences caused by maintenance efforts. It remains a testament to the heart...

A great place for pictures or a picnic. The Great Court is a 'great' place for wedding photos, photos of the sandstone university buildings, catching Pokemon, eating lunch with friends. During the start of the year there's even a party that is usually heald by the union here. If all of these things aren't your cup of tea, then you can join the many students that come here to cry during SWOTVAC, as exams are around the corner but the last lecture they attended was in...

Who doesn't love the Great Court? Even under maintenance, it's breathtaking because of the structure of the buildings surrounding it! From a student's viewpoint, the grass is always a welcoming place for relaxation - frisbee/ something similar, naps and simply stretching out (and preventing low back pain as a result :P). The Great Court even has its own Great Court Race, held annually. As a working person, it's nice to go back and...

Always love being in the Great Court.. steeped with heritage and art from a passionate Brisbane stone sculptor of my childhood Rhyl Hinwoid. And now to watch the Great court race and see Zane Vozveteca take the 2022 men's title just made this place even more magical

Great place with various school events organised as well as relaxing or dating points. The building around also makes visitors feel somewhat of an academic environment and jump back to a hundred years ago.
