Manly Pool — Local services in Brisbane City

I didn't have a good experience at this pool after being verbally abused by a local. The female local did not like me attempting to swim in her lane (all other lanes were full and were being shared). She said (yelled) that I had to ask first before getting in the lane? She then deliberating ran into me while she was doing back stroke by swimming in the wrong lane. She then yelled at me again and said I had no ettiquette. She then began shaking her head at me from the other end of the pool (extremely intimidating) and as we passed each other she told me to swim up and down to the one side only (rather than to the right as normal). Small facilities with just one (maybe 6?) lanes pool and one toddler pull and a slide but the slide is super fun for a load swimming pool and the staff are friendly. I've been a dozen times and it's never been too busy. A downside of the main pool is that it's not low enough for young kids to stand anywhere except the ramp, which would put them in the way on a busy day. It cost about $16 for 2 adults 2 children. There are food and coffee options (havent tried them yet) and lounging chairs by the pool as well as undercover seating and tables. I definitely intend to come back many times. Big kind of a surprise this morning when we went to the pool. Now you're not allowed to enter and wait for your family member to ha a swim,you have to pay full entry fee,$5.80 in order to sit and wait according to the attendant. Apparently is a new rule due to Covid19!!! I can't understand how my $5.80 is going to stop the transmission of Covid19!! Personal opinion...just Greed of the local Council.
