Read moreThis is the biggest shopping centre in the Northern Territory so it is definitely a one stop shop for almost anything you need, and somewhat of a Mecca to the locals. Don't assume the centre will be open for late night shopping on a Thursday like nearly every other major shopping centre in the country - Casuarina does late shopping on Fridays instead. But this isn't necessarily a bad thing! It's popular to go here for dinner and some retail therapy on a Friday after a long week at work. Airconditioning seems to struggle a bit with crowds in the middle of the wet season and recent changes to parking (time limits in the carpark between Shell service station and Coles supermarket, and fines for exceeding time limits) have been very unpopular with customers, including myself. But as a born and raised local, I still go out of my way to visit here at least once a week. There's always a good variety of food in the eatery (food court) and the shops always look fresh as I think lease agreements stipulate that retailers must renovate every 5 years or so. Oh, and if you get lost or can't find a particular store, just ask any of the shoppers - everyone knows the layout like the back...
Read moreAs per usual , you will find what your looking for by going here, if you think of the overall shopping experience, its rather small when compared to down south... however the new quarter area, is very much Brand New. Once you have been there is a nice and pleasant feeling of being involved or outdoors as they call it. Like usual be a tad mindful, of peak day at the weekend, as the car Parks are super full. The New parking system they promote only counts cars that are leaving and coming in which is completely inaccurate most of the time. The other parking of course is available with out the time limits so choose to your hearts content. There is always cause for concern for security at the bus stop as there are that 'certain kind' of individuals who humbug or annoy you, however there is security which I found quite responsive. The cleaners in the food court do there best to wipe down tables and clean up other people's mess, also keep in mind for the prices of food (unless your going to woolies or Coles) as they can rather build up. Look for sales and bargain when shopping at different vendors, as you'll be surprised what deals you can acquire, go there and explore,...
