Reply: Ah yes, the classic Ctrl+C / Ctrl+V: “please fill out another form so we can ignore you twice.” I already complained back in March and got ignored that’s the whole point of my review. Your copy-paste response just proves everything I said. You don’t listen, you don’t care, and you treat students like dollar signs. My review stands.

My experience with TAFE Toowoomba QLD has been nothing short of awful.

• I withdrew from my course in March due to the complete lack of support from my male teacher. Despite there being only TWO students in the class (myself being male and a female student), he consistently prioritised her and dismissed me. On top of that, he made unnecessary comments about my struggles with maths, which only made me feel more discouraged.

• I never completed the “Make Measurements/Calculations” unit, yet I was still charged full price for it. When I questioned this, nothing was resolved, they just kept demanding money!

• After withdrawing around a month later of enrolling, I was slapped with a bill of $660. Unfortunately due to being unemployed, and on Centrelink, I arranged to pay $20 a fortnight, and I stuck to that. But when I missed a single $20 instalment in July (after moving house), TAFE Toowoomba immediately sent me a threatening “debt management” email warning me they’ll cancel my plan and demand the full amount if I didn’t pay the $20 immediately. All this stress and humiliation over just TWENTY DOLLARS!!! This happened on the day before my Birthday!

• I paid the $20, but the whole process has been degrading, stressful, and completely unnecessary. For an education provider, they show zero compassion and treat students like dollar signs.

I still owe $288, but this whole ordeal has proven that TAFE QLD cares more about squeezing money out of students than actually educating or supporting them.

If you’re thinking of studying here, don’t! Expect poor teaching, blatant favouritism, and a complete lack of empathy if you fall into financial hardship. They’ll treat you like a criminal over the smallest...

I recently applied for a diploma in nursing. I applied at the end of December 2022 I first spoke to a lovely girl at the reception office and she gave me the information and forms to fill out to bring back to submit for the course once completed. I brought the forms back on the Friday just before the Campus closed for the holidays and handed them into a woman named (Kerrie) I was under the impression that the forms would go where they needed to go as she assured me she would submit them. 2 months later I still had not heard anything about my application so I calles the campus to ask about the status of my application where I was told the there was no applications in my name on the system or having been submitted to the nursing team. I was disappointed I had to miss out on a course and apply for an upcoming one later on in the year where I completed my BKSB for the course and was given an email that I attended the administration office again to ask about and was served again by the same lady (Kerrie) to where she said the information on the email is incorrect as she is in charge of the BKSB for the campus and she would promptly follow up the email and get back to me about it... needless to say 4 days later and having heard nothing more about it I emailed her back to ask her if she had followed up the email and 2 months later I am still yet to receive a response. This is not a good show of communication and helpfulness from the staff at the campus especially for potential new students. Very good well equipped campus, all facilities great including restaurant (food is a 10/10) , friendly staff, the only minor complaint I'd have is regarding the library. To my understanding libraries are a quite space. It gets VERY noisy in there at times and the librarian does nothing to keep the noise down. From people eating chatting and laughing loudly, people having their lunch in there , even the staff are loud you can hear the banter in the staff room from outside . I feel like there's so many other places on campus to chat and eat lunch ect, because people specifically come to the library to study, read, focus in quite, while accessing resources.
