In my last 3 visits I’ve recieved very poor customer service from Yanti. From the start, she was very condescending and disrespectful in her tone and manner, and made me feel extremely unwelcomed and mistreated as a customer.
Interestingly, the Red Emperor that I got yesterday, along with the packaging, had a strong scent of chemicals that resembled that of cleaning products. It was odd - I wasn’t sure if was still safe to eat but didn’t want to return it given the poor treatment that I received. Shortly after consumption, I experienced stomach cramps and knew that the fish was contaminated.
It’s very unfortunate that both the quality of the fish as well as customer service has deterioriated so significantly and quickly in the span of a few weeks. As a frequent customer I have been going to this place at least 3-4 times a week in the last few months without any issue. In contrast to their new hire, their old staff were very respectful and friendly, and the fish were properly handled and safe to consume. They would be happy to answer any questions that I had regarding their fish products. But not with the new staff. Ask any question and she will respond condescendingly with “I don’t know” or give an unhelpful answer using a raised voice, then goes on to crack jokes with her female coworker, making you feel like she couldn’t care less about you.

Read moreYesterday ( Sunday) I bought 2 packs of frozen mussels in the shells, one pack of frozen whitebait and 2 ling fillets, costing $84. I cooked some mussels last night and they were good but today I cooked one of the ling fillets, I washed it in egg and then covered it in semolina and fried it. It looked great so crispy but was the worse fish I have ever eaten.. it had a very strong pungnant taste that was revolting! I had to through it out.. $46 down the drain for 2 fillets!! I will NEVER return to this place . Tasman is so much better.. this is shit!

I spent $240 of toothfish after being told I had to buy the whole side of the fish, I asked if it had bones and was advised there are no bones. I then asked them to cut it into smaller bits and asked for someone who knows toothfish to cut it for me.
I got home and de frosted to marinade and it’s full of bones the whole fish, not only that they cut it into strips and that cut the bones into smalle sharper bits. Now it’s pretty much a $240 waste of money
