A most delightful experience indeed! Let me begin with the ambient. There aren't enough adjectives in any dictionaries to describe the intense feeling of warmth, well-being & contentedness this venue exudes! I can think of a few. For instance, cozy, comfortable, homely, elegant, desirable etc. etc! In my opinion, this could be due to the 'just right' size of this place (not too big, not too small) complemented by professionally chosen, well-positioned & subdued lighting topped with marvellous Indian artefacts and decor.
There are extremely well-placed mirrors covering all the walls & ceiling creating an illusion of a somewhat larger space to what it actually is.
The service was impeccable! The waiting time for the meal was reasonable considering how busy they were. Cutlery & crockery were of a high standard.
Allow me to continue by describing the food.
The hot and spicy Lamb/Rogan Josh, naan bread served with coconut rice and samosas were probably the most deliciously scrumptious I've had for some time! Of course I had no option but to wash this down with an exquisite glass of Cabernet Sauvignon. To add to this, we were treated to a smooth, creamy ice-cream dessert. WOW!
The cost involved (paid with Qoin) for this unforgettable experience was most reasonable indeed!
Don't waste anymore...
Read moreI don't usually do reviews but I feel compelled this time due to how bad it was. We dined in, there was only 2 other tables being used, so it was almost empty. After 5 mins of being ignored, I asked to have our order taken. We got our popadoms but the accompaniments did not arrive at the same time, so Rita arrived 3 mins later, then another 3 mins for mango chutney, and I eventually had to ask for the salad, all ordered as a starter. 15 mins after placing our order, we had still not received our drinks, and I had to ask, they are so preoccupied with takeaways at this restaurant, that the dine in service is absolutely awful. The food is fantastic, and one of the best I've had, truly fantastic, but the table service is diabolical. This was the second time we have du Ed in, and both times the table service has been very poor, especially on this last occasion. Tip for the restaurant- Look after the customers inside your restaurant unless you decide to run a takeaway service only. I will go back because the food is amazing, but only for takeaway, the dining in element is really bad. The table next to us had an even worse time being left for ages and having to keep asking staff to take an order, get their starter etc, so it seems quite common. Shame as its a nice place, but I won't...

30degrees outside. Similar inside (we had to ask for aircon to be turned on, which they did, but didn't really make any difference)
We went for their Wednesday buffet.
The prices advertised ranged from $24.95 and $29.95 depending on where you see the advert. Actually they wanted to charge us $39.95 for the 'Valentines Day Special' There was no signage advertising this and nothing to resemble anything extra or special.
It wasn't a help yourself buffet, more of a banquet.
You get unlimited butter chicken and then choose 3 curries from the menu, plus entrees of spring rolls, samosas and popadoms, naan (garlic or plain) and rice (safron or plain) No deserts were included in the buffet.
The samosas had a spring roll type wrapper on the outside instead of the more traditional pastry.
The butter chicken was very tender but the sauce lacked spices (it was more like chicken in tomato soup with cream)
Ice cold Asahi imported beer ($7) went down well.
We ordered one mango lassi and one strawberry lassi. Unfortunately the strawberry lassi was not available (discontinued I think)
Overall, not bad value for $24.95 but $30+...
