With the vast range of places to get food and and beverages from these days, it perplexes me that places like this seem so complacent with customer service (or lack thereof). Take today, for example - my friend and I entered Serendipity Espresso and stood at the front counter to order our coffees. We waited. A lady was behind the coffee machine with a man in a black shirt/black cap, both of whom seemed to be busy making coffee. About 2 minutes passed. Neither of them bothered to look up and even acknowledge us - no "Sorry, we'll be with you in just a minute." 5 minutes passed. Still no acknowledgment. By then, my friend and I were standing at the counter, wondering if we were invisible. We ended up taking our service to another cafe up the road. I can't even say that the service we received at Serendipity Espresso was poor, because we didn't receive any at all.
EDIT: With regard to your reply - while I definitely empathise with absolutely everyone (both individuals and businesses) who have been impacted by COVID-19, it does not deter from the fact that my friend and I were left standing awkwardly for an inordinate amount of time at your counter. We would have 100% understood if you or your wife had come over and quickly explained the situation to us; we would have waited for as long as it took for you to finish completing the orders. However, as you said in your reply, we did not hear your wife say hi to us due to the noise. I’m not attacking you or your wife or your business, and from your other reviews I have no doubt that you have many pleased customers - the above is just what my friend and I happened to experience on this particular day. As I said, a simple and quick explanation would have gone a long way. Thank you for the personal attacks on my character in your reply, though.
Acknowledgment and an explanation aren’t mutually exclusive things. You can acknowledge someone by giving them an explanation. Also, the place was not full. There were about 4 people sitting inside, and a couple outside. If you take a look at my other reviews, I’m normally pretty happy with the service I receive and I’m not quick to complain. I’m just highlighting that the service my friend and I received was...
Read moreMaking coffee and toasties into an art form turns a café into something more special! This is the place near home I always take friends and visitors to the Coast as it's a guaranteed winner. The team here is great; service is always fast and friendly. Doing simple things extremely well is a good recipe for success and Milk Money have nailed it. Coffee professionals should definitely drop by for the sharp espresso and batch brews. Likewise, the toasted sandwich here has been lifted into gourmet territory. The Reuban is a consistent winner with house-made corned beef, the Wise Guy is a rich feast of roasted vegetables and spicy pepperoni, and I would strongly recommend going for whatever special of the day might be on offer. If you are hungry and looking for a sure thing in Robina then Milk Money...
Read moreThat's the last they will see of my business. First time, I went here, I just wanted a plain bacon & egg roll with bbq sauce and not the Bae Roll which has a hash brown and cheese. I still got charged the full price of $19.50 for the bacon & egg role and small coffee! I went back this morning as thought I would give them another try. I asked for a medium coffee with lactose free milk, which I got charged $5.60 for which was ok, however, when I was given it, it was just a small coffee, in fact it looked smaller than most cafe small coffee's. I asked the guy what size it was as I had ordered a medium sized coffee. The guy stated that it was a medium sized coffee! No wonder there was no-one else there and such a shame that they are ripping customers...
