Stoneman's Garden Centre — Local services in Hobart

Overall a great selection of plants, however landscaping supplies unfortunately leave a lot to be desired. Ordered a delivery of standard loam which turned out to be basically pure sand (in very little resemblance to the picture advertised on their website). When I enquired about this I was told that it is in fact 'sandy loam', and when I suggested that I expected the loam to be approximately equal parts silt and clay (as per the definition of loam) I was told 'mmm not sure about that'. A bit disappointing considering the rest of their nursery supplies are great. Definitely recommend going to view landscaping supplies in person considering their alternative definition of products or better, go to a specialised landscaping...

Went to Stonemans last week to buy a cover and trolley for our Weber. The friendly staff helped us out, we then went and looked at plants in the rain! Quite enjoyable using the provided umbrellas and we .purchased a heap of plants, including discounted blueberries after a staff member showed us where they were. We then left because if we stayed any longer would've broken the budget due to the wonderful array of plants on sale....

It wasn't very crowded for a Saturday so it was nice to browse around. It's not the largest of nurseries but certainly makes up for it with variety including a dog grooming studio. I was greeted by staff members as we walked around which added a nice personal touch. We enquired about blueberry plants and got very specific advice on what variety to get and how to plant and care for them. The blueberries were on sale...
