Albert Park Supermarket — Local services in Melbourne

Quite possibly the worst experience I've ever had in a shop.

I went in on a quiet Monday afternoon. One staff member was stacking shelves with headphones on. I had to squeeze by him because he didn't seem at all interested in moving over for a customer. In squeezing by, my t-shirt caught on a sharp piece of shelving and it ripped. I commented to him that it might be a good idea to put tape on it so that these things didn't happen. "Not my job" was the reply. I replied suggesting he really should have had the courtesy to move aside in the first place, to prevent any of this happening. "Not. My. Problem" was his rude reply. I was stunned. I told him he had a crappy attitude and should treat customers with more respect. He then proceeded to escalate into an angry rant behind the counter, refusing to tell me his name, claiming not to know the managers name, shouting things at me such as "what are you gonna do to me, you gonna kill me?!", "I don't care", "Go f* yourself" and other similar aggressive verbal abuse. A co-worker appeared and had to calm him down.

I empathise that people in the service industry have a hard job dealing with difficult customers. But I cannot tolerate bad manners, attitude, lack of respect, and unnecessary aggression from staff, especially when a customer has been wronged.

I have shopped there quite regularly but today the old man that was on the till was so unpleasant .. I was overcharged and when I corrected him he was annoyed asked me if wanted to buy something to adjust the difference and then I was given a difference in the price but rather rudely and I questioned it .. he said ‘I HAVE GIVEN YOU MORE THAN THE DIFFERENCE’ He was obnoxious I won’t return to that store and I think others should consider not...

Used to be foodworks but now it seems that franchise was let go. I asked if the store is closing down but person behind counter just responded with a brisk “no”. Shop looks super shabby and shelves half stocked. Wouldn’t trust those fridges to be working...
