DO NOT BUY ELECTRONICS FROM BIG W!!!!! In August last year I bought a 52 inch EKO Tv from Big W broadmeadows via click and collect during stage 4 lockdown. From day dot this unit did not work it was obviously faulty. I bought this specific brand as I had a smaller version of it and never had a single problem with it- to later learn it has an entirely different system. I was interstate at the time and I didnt use it myself for about a month to start the returns process. Over the next NINE MONTHS I would go through an absolute headache of them telling me firstly the refund was approved and someone would be collecting the unit, then telling me that was a complete lie and I need to get it repaired (when it was the entire line of TVs not our unit) and going back and forth with their call centre overseas to organise a repair I HAD TO STAY HOME FROM WORK FOR because they REFUSED to come when it suited me. The repair (unsurprisingly) made no difference to the constant glitching and I got so close to throwing the remote through it I went back to the very same head office who should have issued me a refund in the first place. It took me copying sections of the consumer law into the emails with them for them to finally admit, yeah, we do owe you your money back. I finally organise to take it back to the CLOSED broadmeadows store (I didnt know it was closed due to this experience I have never bought anything else from Big w). Head office literally approved for me to take it back to a store that shut in January bc apparently they werent aware it shut 🥴 So NINE MONHS later I FINALLY have a refund after an entirely painful hour actually physically taking it back to a store half...
Read moreI had a very disappointing experience at Big W Craigieburn due to the unprofessional behavior of the store manager named Durga. I purchased a $300 Epson printer from this store around two months ago. Unfortunately, the printer stopped working. Since it was still under a 1-year warranty, I contacted Epson customer support. After troubleshooting with them over the phone, they confirmed the issue and advised me to return or exchange the product at the store. However, when I went to Big W Craigieburn to return the item, the manager Durga refused to assist. He dismissed Epson's advice, saying, "Epson is not the boss — I am the boss here." I requested to speak with someone above him, but he said no one else was in charge and he was the only decision-maker. He claimed there was a small piece of paper inside the printer and accused me of causing the damage, even though the issue had nothing to do with that and Epson had already verified the fault. He refused to process the return or offer any reasonable solution. His attitude was arrogant and unhelpful, showing no interest in good customer service or the store's reputation. I then visited another Big W store with the same printer, and the experience was completely different. The staff there were polite and understanding. Without hesitation, they acknowledged my consumer rights and processed the return, saying, "You spent your money — you have the right to return it under warranty." It’s extremely disappointing that a manager like Durga is representing Big W Craigieburn. He showed a complete lack of professionalism and customer care. Read moreI placed an order for a stroller online in Cragieburn one of the closest stores in stock. 24 hours later I attended the store which was 1 hour away from me, as there were major storms ahead and I didn't want to be delayed. I called ahead, took 3 calls for the call to be answered. Then passed through numerous people, to advised there were 7 of that item on the floor and i advised i was on my way to collect. Once there, the store was practically empty, maybe 15 people inside. At the service desk, I was advised by the sassy attendant that she didn't know where it was and I can go get it myself (okay). I'm pregnant. When I carried the stroller box back to the counter - there were three people there talking about taking their breaks! Again- attendant, sassy put the item through and I left. So RUDE! CLEARLY THESE PEOPLE DONT CARE about customer service. They are rude and care more about coffee breaks. I recieved an email today about the stroller being collected- that was 2 weeks ago!
