February 2024 UPDATE 50m pool available only from 5:30am to 8:30am. Yes, you read correctly. Millions of dollars of public money spent for an olympic pool with a moving boom trashed. What a joke! Is anyone willing to investigate this insult to taxpayers? Updated to 1 star. March 2023 UPDATE On the website there is this ALERT: "There is always something happening at Splash...". EXACTLY: there is TOO MUCH HAPPENING AT SPLASH, almost every week this or that is closed, not working, booked, reduced... This is NOT a public pool anymore. This is a SCHOOL POOL. Not only the main pool is usually partially closed in the morning, but some times COMPLETELY CLOSED from 10:00am to 2:00pm. Which actually means from about 9:30 to 2:30. And always in the 25m configuration. Not fair for all those who pay to use the pool any time of the day. Lower the fees or build another pool for the schools. And also left very dirty after school groups and with poor level of maintenance. PREVIOUS: My first review of Splash Aqua Park and Leisure Centre was written soon after the new centre opened and then updated periodically, with last update in March 2023. Now a smmary: GOOD: nice 50m pool, comfortable sitting area, cafeteria, shop, fitness programs, wellness centre, close to shopping centre, convenient for students and teens (very welcome option from 12yo) and very convenient for seniors. BAD: NO hairdryers and no power points; SHOWERS' HEADS too close to wall WATER stream too variable with multi users. NO separate 50m pool and kids' areas (can be noisy and crowded); STILL dangerous rocks filling of spaces (parking); GYM is nice but it would need more machines of certain kind (only one for abs!!); frequent FAILURE OF INTERNET connection (cardio equipment often with no TV or news online); PARKING is insufficient during school holidays (not less than 3 months a year...); Thanks to bad designers and/or bad builders, a wrongly designed floor keeps a LARGE PUDDLE forever in front of the giant splashing bucket. VERY BAD: STILL NO early entrance on weekends (WHY??? On weekends the pool area is usually overcrowded with kids, so it would make sense to have at least a 6:30 or 7:00); and early closing time on weekends too! Really? Just when people have more time you close the pool?!? NO "no-underwear" policy (unhygienic); HOT TUB mistakenly built with the same pool's max temperature (Hume Council: please find who has been responsible for this mess, and if it was you, then admit you were and spend the money to fix it...); NO hotter water in the hot tub. POOL LOCKERS are too narrow and GYM LOCKERS not deep enough for an average sport bag. Still SHELVES often missing. Poor maintenance of taps and very poor cleaning and maintenace of lockers. Many locks STILL not working, the same ones, month after month... SUGGESTIONS: what about wall hairdryers? What’s good in trying to keep healthy swimming or doing hydrotherapy and then catch a cold or worse freezing your head in the winter's outside cold wind? Close a week the hot water pool and fix the hot tub. Then fix the wrongly designed floor, the ridiculous shower heads and the pressure and quantity of the water flow. Plan dividing the space and create separate (although connected) swimming and kids’ leisure spaces, just like it has been already wisely done for the Warm Water Pool, which is completely enclosed. SERIOUS ISSUES TO BE IMPROVED (already signalled): replace the rock fillings in the parking with other less dangerous material! GENERAL COMMENTS. All considered, it does not seem that mixing swimming and kids’ ponds and splash features is a good idea. The often overcrowded and noisy environment should suggest to Councils that although if might seem brilliant (and cheaper) creating a water multi-space, Aqua Parks and swimming facilities do not go well together and produce a lose-lose situation. Members should receive a text in advance for closure of pool lanes for private events and carnivals. Too many kids, noisy after school hours. Please separate kids' areas...

Read moreI will never be back to this centre ever again ,I recently went to the splash centre in Craigieburn last Sunday which was a warm day we did go at around about 1 o’clock I went with my daughter and her friend there were two reasons why we were attending the centre. The first reasons we haven’t been there before but the main reason was my daughter School was going to be having some swimming lessons and we wanted to see the facilities before we send her off with the school. I was horrified and will never send my daughter there ever again it wasn’t the fact that we waited in the queue because capacity to the facilities was met, that was not the issue we understand it was it warm day. but once we entered they said that we could use the water slide but it will be closing within half an hour once my daughters reach the slide it was then closed immediately and the girls could not use the slides we were offered a refund which was great but there were still lack of staff They were telling us and things could not be used and supervised properly fair enough, The girls manage to use one of the pools which was okay came closer to closing time , The girls went to the changing rooms and were horrified And said that they would not be able to use the changing room as there was faeces all over the shower floors which I had witnessed myself and other people who were at the time entering the changes also had witnessed this no one had seem to report it so I reported it at the front desk and they were almost like oh okay and they didn’t even arrange a maintenance person to clean it up very quickly or say that we will get someone straight away there it was all up almost like they didn’t believe us. The very next day I have reported this to the Hume Council and have spoken to the splash manager they were very apologetic but in having said this my daughter School is reinforcing the issue that she must attend swimming lessons at the centre which I am refusing to send her on the grounds of what I have seen, The place is very rundown and lack of staff lifeguards are rude when supervising the children facilities were closed and you could not use much of the area , is centre is not a very nice environment for families to attend specially if they are not cleaning up after themselves or reporting any spillage very disappointing as there is no other centre in my area I will not be attending this facility and I’ll wait for council to ring me back with further instructions about this Centre, Reading through some of the reviews I’m not sure if people are really looking at the centre with open eyes I did not see anything great about the centre very sad my daughter is horrified, The standard of hygiene in this facility...
