Transmission fit perfectly, this is an EBN coded box from Audi A3 8l vs EVS coded box (VW Golf GTI MK4). Had fluids changed. Only difference was the connecting bits on the selectors on top of the gearbox. Turned out really well. New clutch with dual mass flywheel, replaced broken exhaust manifold stud. Left hand drive shaft replaced with new. Car feels tight, clutch pedal feels like an R32 clutch right now - super soft - although the Frankie says over time it will feel slightly heavier than what it feels like now, but not by much - should feel like what it did before over time. So super happy it's back on the road giving what the second hand market is like and what my son is entitled to drive. Also has fitted a pinion shaft brace, had to be slightly modified to fit properly - but not a biggy deal. Huge thank you to Frankie's Garage in Preston, Michael mech for the work and Frankie for fitting us in for this work - the toughest part was getting the stud out of the engine block, had to spend time removing turbo, and manifold and drilling into the stud to screw it out and have it replaced. Car drives like a dream, like new - these guys are gentleman and I highly recommend them for any mechanical work, services and sometimes even for a bit of fun! Keep up the great work and we are really appretiating Frankie's work...

Told me he put a BOSCH alternator. It turned out to be some cheap chinese JAYLEC. Do you guys seriously think ppl are that stupid?

I ran into issues straight away and he kept denying it wasn't the alternator and later offered to have a look but was rude. Instead of dealing with a DISHONEST and RUDE mechanic i decided to go elsewhere spend the money again after driving with the fault for a month. Be careful with these dodgy mechanics unless time and money is not a factor for you.

Reply(Truth): if you are serious then honour the warranty i have your faulty alternator. Also dont tell customers how long you have been in Australia. 23 yrs in aus does'nt give u the right to rip ppl off maybe...

So disappointed, went out of my way to come here from the city because they were lovely on the phone and reviews were good. Only needed a certificate of roadworthiness, they seemed super dodgy. Came back with a list of problems which I asked them to put into an email for me to review, they said they did 3 times, to multiple emails (just in case it was my email) and didn’t actually send anything through. Took my car to another mechanic, and spoke to a panel beater no issues at all but de fogging the headlights. Kind of felt like trying to take advantage of a “dumb girl” vibes, or that they just couldn’t be assed being helpful because it was a smaller scale job. Anyway probably...
