Lunch @ConnectDelhiRocks for Indian fare. The Swanston St venue upstairs offers daily specials as well as their special thali where you can choose 2 or 3 curries (veg and non-veg options), masala tea, and unlimited roti. I chose the special thali choosing goat curry, butter chicken, and mixed vegetables. A tray with the curries are served with some raw carrots and cabbage, a papadum and then find a table. A staff member makes their rounds with a tray of freshly made roti so just ask how many you want and they'll keep coming round so don't worry you'll miss out and you also want to get them fresh. The roti is lovely and excellent to dip into the curries or tear pieces off and scoop out the curries. I love butter chicken and the food here is authentic, not westernised, so the familiar creamy sweet flavour at your local Indian is not what you get here. Tasty tender chicken, more savoury than sweet, a little chilli hit, yum. I also liked the goat curry too, really tender and tasty. Amongst the meatiness, delicious curried mixed vegetables went down a treat. I like the crunchy papadum. To the left where you order is a wash basin and to the right is the masala tea station and bin to empty and deposit your tray. Lovely tea but not exactly like the delicious version one gets in India but still satisfying. Awesome value at just $15 and left comfortably full. I returned again for a Tuesday lunch special of 4 puri (a light deep fried bread), chole (spiced chickpeas), halwa (carrot dessert), and the raw slaw and masala tea. Airy, soft, light roti are presented, tear them apart and scoop up the chole and eat. Really tasty chole along with delicious puris. The halwa was nice but despite having a sweet tooth would have preferred another curry, even just dhal, as a savoury alternative. Tasty satisfying meal. #IndianFood #lunch #thali #curry #mixedvegetable #butterchicken #goatcurry #roti #masaltea #chole #puri #halwa #melbournefood #Foodie #melbournecbd

🔥👍🏽 This place rocks, which isn't always a praise. A super popular place known to almost every Indian in Melbourne, this place attracts people for its obviously good food, but most importantly the unlimited rotis and tea one can have here. 😊🥘 I and my friend had ordered non-veg and veg thalis respectively, with our choice of dishes. Priced at $12.99 each, it felt like a good bargain. The dishes arrived in about 6 minutes or so, and I wasn't all that impressed to be honest. The shallow bowls in the plate didn't have enough volume to hold a good amount of dish, which I had to eat in small amounts to continue with more rotis (I guess this strategy isn't uncommon). As for the food, it was good. Typical North Indian cuisine, flavourful, tasty gravy, and nothing fancy. The misshapen ritis were delivered in quick succession when asked for, and were well baked. The poorly served salad was a mishmash of veggies and hardly served its purpose. 😩🥁 One aspect of this place which lowers its rating for me is the atmosphere. With speakers blaring musing in a space that's already jam-packed with people chatting loudly, I didn't find eating here a pleasant experience. Also, the aesthetics have been updated, still something felt off. The staff were ok. ♨️🙂 Overall, this place is fine. Good for visiting with friends or just yourself, and be prepared for a good dose of Delhi hospitality!

Good customer service 👍 Most of the food was ready by 11.30 am. (vegetarian dishes) They served fresh & hot chapatti while you were eating! (Free flow chapatti) That's amazing! Hot chai is included in the set meal. (self-service) The food tastes good and is reasonable for the price. Restaurant cleanliness is good and they have plenty of seating for dining. They're located on the first floor, do need to climb upstairs. There is a surcharge on card payments. For example, for a $12.99 set meal, they charged me $13.24. Cash and card payments are available here.

Probably the worst restaurant i have ever visited in Melbourne. I came with a high expectation after finding the Indian restaurant in city and the moment i entered there is no air conditioning at all it was quiet hot. Secondly the most worst thing is crockery i mean i just got a plastic plate likewise we got in a langar and if i talk about service for me its -1 not even a 0. And most importantly food. I ordered 1 biryani and stuff parantha. When i got biryani very little pieces of chicken and on the top of it there is no onion and the food was completely cold not even a bit warm. Stuff parantha was average as the taste and quality didn’t meet my expectations. I got disappointed. A first and last visit in Delhi Rocks! Hope you guys improve as u need to ameliorate alot especially change the chefs. THANKU your...
