A few weeks back, I specifically came in and asked for souvlaki meat. I asked where it was in the cabinet he advised just behind him, I trusted him as you automatically do and I ended up paying about $60 something dollars for it which was fine at the time.
Later on when I am ready to prepare/cook the meat for a hungry youth group 85% of it was fat! I actually was buying it for someone else to cook, I didn't check it before I left but I trusted them as a butcher to produce quality meat. Not sure if he thought he could take advantage of me because I am younger being in my early 20s or maybe the stereotype of being a blonde or do they do this to anyone/everyone?!
While pouring down with rain the same day and now pushing me back, making everything run behind I had to run the fatty meat I received back to them. The second guy I dealt with (different to the one who served me) was talking but yelling it at me, trying to give me similar meat. He wasn't pleasant to deal with. I was quite flustered already from running behind and to be treated how I was when this shouldn't have occurred in the first place. I then had to go back the next day and get my receipt which was left there, again a different guy served me who was nice but the first guy who initially gave me the bag of fatty meat whispered in his ear.. she is the one who brought the meat back yesterday. He knew well enough why I brought it back!!!
So disappointed, will not ever go back and give them...
Read moreThis rating was based on the outcome of an issue I had. Mastercut showed no real care factor about the issue from my point of view, so unfortunately I am leaving a 1 star rating.. Spent $28 on 2 rib eyes, bbq'd the day after purchase - upon chewing the first mouthful both tasted like a mixture of that pesticide smell and dirt (obviously rancid/spoilt, or contaminated with something) spat out the mouthful immediately and threw both in rubbish.
Phoned in the following day to politely advise staff and ask if anyone else had the same issue. No apology, no offer to replace or refund, didn't ask for my details etc - outcome was I should have spent my time driving the cooked steaks back to the shop for testing.. what kind of person with any self respect rocks up at a butcher with a plate of cooked steak and receipt in tow demanding an acceptable resolution? No thanks! If i were to have them tested it would have been through the local councils environmental health department to ensure the issue was correctly addressed. But I'm not that type of customer.
I know what a steak shouldn't taste like and it's not up to customers to spend their time assisting a business with their food safety standards? No care factor in providing a resolution for me, not the outcome that i felt was ideal from a customer service POV. But its not my business so the resolution is not up to me. The only thing up to me is where I shop for meat, and it will never be at...
Read moreBought from here twice, both times the meat wasn't great and some of it tasted like it was spoilt. Last time I ordered I spent close to $100 in mostly lamb and the diced lamb was mostly fat, cutlets still had marking lines from when the meat gets tagged and neither tasted great (tasted spoilt or something was just off about the flavor and texture which lots of people picked up on and couldn't eat). I ordered mostly chicken the first time and it looked a bit weird (excess cartridge or much more visible for some reason), I also ordered other meats which were fine but I would probably avoid those too in the future. Customer service was fine but the staff were fighting amongst themselves last time I ordered and it was a bit awkward for me as a customer just standing around waiting for my order while that's happening in...
