An Unforgettable Cake Workshop Experience!

I recently had the pleasure of attending a cake workshop at My Dream Cakes Hallam, led by the talented By Aletoso, and I couldn't be happier with the experience. From start to finish, it was an unforgettable journey into the world of cake decorating.

First and foremost, By Aletoso's expertise shone through in every aspect of the workshop. Camilo’s passion for cake artistry was evident in their detailed explanations and patient guidance. Whether you were a beginner like me or a seasoned baker, By Aletoso made sure everyone felt comfortable and inspired to create beautiful cakes.

The workshop was held at My Dream Cakes Hallam was well-organized and equipped with all the tools and ingredients we needed. Camilo’s (By Aletoso) step-by-step demonstrations were clear and easy to follow, making even the most intricate designs seem achievable. He encouraged creativity and provided helpful tips along the way.

What truly set this workshop apart was the personal touch and enthusiasm Camilo brought to the table. He and My dream Cakes were genuinely invested in each participant's progress, offering one-on-one guidance and constructive feedback. It created a friendly and collaborative atmosphere among all the attendees.

By the end of the workshop, I was amazed by what I had accomplished, thanks to By Aletoso's expert guidance. I left with not only a stunning cake but also a newfound passion for cake decorating. My Dream Cakes and By Aletoso have created something truly special here, and I can't wait to attend another workshop in the future.

The largest range you can find anywhere including online. Prices are on average better than you will find most places. Opening hours for this type of store are far better then anywhere else. Sometimes it can get a little busy in the store but they always seem to have plenty of staff so you don’t have to wait forever like many other cake stores that just can’t have the same level of staff (understandably)

This stores amazing for both business customers and people who want to try their hand at baking or decorating something special, and everyone in between. You can buy small ingredient packets and mixes or 15kg bags of cake mix.

I’ve shopped here anywhere from weekly to monthly for over 4 years now, I always recommend them to friends and even my own customers because for anything cake related, chances are you will find an amazing solution to what you need! The staff are lovely and always willing to help. My father doesn’t always seem like the friendliest person and he usually gets grumpy having to go shopping (especially when it’s not for himself) A few times I have found myself busy or out of some ingredients I need last minute and have sent my father in to pick a click and collect order up for me. Turns out he really enjoys going to Hallam and talking with the staff 🤷🏻‍♂️ they obviously enjoy their work.

Depending on what you need or what you don’t know you need, it’s most likely worth the trip to visit their store even if you live far away.

So unimpressed with this business. I have purchased from here many times and it had become my go-to cake supplies shop, however after my last experience I will not be back. I purchased a container of white truffle to use as ganache and when I went to use it it had gone runny and grainy- I work with this regularly and it was obviously off. Called to ask about it and just got a "bring it back and we'll refund" response. No apology, nothing. When I returned it a couple of days later the woman was cold and rude, and when I mentioned that the other containers appeared the same as this (and that the product had NO best before date on it. Isn't this illegal??) she just ignored me. I work in customer service and when you make such a big mistake as this, you apologize and do what you can to help the customer. Not the case here. She was also useless when I inquired about gluten-free products (her response: "I don't know" and didn't bother to ask anyone else for me). Luckily my other local cake supplies shop (Merryday in Cheltenham) was extremely helpful and helped me to avoid a SERIOUS allergic reaction. Maybe train up your staff a little better 'My Dream Cake' and don't sell expired...
