FoodWorks — Local services in Oberon

I have walked into food works today for the very first time as I normally shop at IGA! Unfortunately IGA had run out of toilet paper..... I thought I’d pop in and see if Food works have some! Got some other stuff..... approached the counter I was asked if I was a local ? I replied I was then was asked what was the postcode? I thought what’s this lady’s problem...... I have lived in Oberon for 6 yrs! I was polite and answered her 2787. She said I wasn’t a local and shouldn’t be here. It was really rude.... as the lady had a person ethnic accent. Why would I not be welcome to a supermarket........ seriously that was the worst experience.... I walked out feeling unwelcome.

I walked back in and said thanks for your hospitality just so you know I’ve been in Oberon for 6 yrs what you said was really rude! And you wonder why people go to IGA! She gave me a grid as I walked out. This definitely isn’t customer service. You’re in...

The place has the basics but do not expect to find anything out of the ordinary there.. the fruit and veg did look a bit better than a standard supermarket but many things were not there and we had to go and complete the shop in another shop nearby. So overall the experience is less than average with less reasons to go there than the other good...
