friendly service, parking is abit of a challenge. greek sweets are alright, shop is a little cramped but its decent for a family business.
here's what happened, ordered a custom cake for my wife's birthday as a surprise/prank. i paid $195 for that thing that was supposed to look like the bottle, not 100% ofcourse but id expect alot more than what i got, aesthetically.
taste, i was told they can only do vanilla due to shaping. yeah whatever i was expecting it to be funny & its ok if its not as yummy. but its way beyond "not as yummy". very tough, dry, over baked, tastes horrible. everybody has a bite & be like "nah im not eating this shyt bro lolol"
went to the shop the next day to tell the lady owner what happened & she said its a butter cream cake, needs to sit out of fridge an hour before serving, she said they instructed the restaurant which i had them delivered to. i very much believe i should be instructed instead of the restaurant since im the paying customer & they dont decide when the cake comes out but i do. no refund offered even half of it AFTER i mentioned it. she thinks its a good job & there's nothing wrong with it.
subscribed to their email thingy to get a discount but seen nothing, i didn't ask when i was making payment in person hoping they will do me a good job. delivery was told $25 by the husband when i first showed up to pay for the cake before i decided where it should be delivered to. came back to make payment for delivery after locking in with a restaurant roughly a week after, this time is $30 instead. again, i said nothing hoping for a good outcome.
so, i paid $225 to ruin my wife's surprise birthday dinner with an inedible cake that looks nothing more than elementary kids baked goods. dude seriously, if you dont think you can do a proper job, dont take it. reputation is a lot more important than taking the money these days.
being friendly isn't good enough to be in the business. thanks but no thanks
response to business owner : lolol what else can i say ? let the world be the judge, not wasting anymore of my life arguing over it....
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy experience with the Wrapped Kit Kat Cake from Cake On The Road was very disappointing. From the first bite it was clear the cake had been affected by freezer burn. The texture was dry and powdery from the base to the cream and even the strawberries.
Instead of the rich and creamy flavour you would expect from a Kit Kat inspired cake, it tasted overly sweet but without any real flavour. There was none of the freshness or smooth texture that makes a good cake enjoyable. It just felt icy, bland and overly sugary.
This was a real letdown. The presentation looked good at first but the taste and texture did not match the appearance. I hope the bakery can review its storage and preparation process because the idea has promise but the result...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI had an āEkmekā an hour ago from their pop-up stand at the Greek festival at Tumbalong Park. It was literally a cross between a cheese cake and plain whipped butter with a bit of Kataifi at the bottom with no syrup or custard at all. Very very disappointed as it looked like Ekmek before eating it, and then while eating it, it was apparent this was not an Ekmek.
Maybe this place does other products well, but they definitely made the worst attempt to an Ekmek Iāve ever seen. If someone had given me this with a blindfold on and asked me to guess what dessert it was, I would have said something like a frozen Sara Lee Cheescake. Absolutely no syrup at all, no custard. The cream tasted like Philadelphia Cream Cheese. No nuts in it at all...
