I'm sure their meat is excellent, but their customer service and competence is horrendous. I ordered a large quantity of meat well in advance of a date for which it was required and selected for the order to be shipped to my local pickup. I received an sms confirming the day and time for pickup a few days before I was due to pick it up. When I arrived at my local pickup they said the order had not arrived and to come back later. I showed them the text message from Osawa stating the date and time for pick up and was rudely told "I don't care about that sms, come back later". I came back later that day only to be told once again the order was not there and to contact customer support. I tried to contact them and left a voicemail since it was outside their office hours. The next day I rang again during office hours to enquire about my order (when I should have been called by customer service, customer service 101) and was told they needed to wait for someone else to start at 10am before they could do anything. Apparently despite specifying a collection point nearest to me, my items were sent to Strathfield because my address has NSW in it and the customer service representative said it was my problem. I basically live in Canberra and selected to pick up from a Canberra location but due to Osawas dispatch procedures they simply look at the state in which the order is for and send to the location in that state instead of looking at the order instructions and dispatching to the desired pickup location. I was contacted by customer service and they told me I would be getting a refund but "because they did not own the bank" they could not tell me when the refund might occur. I was never offered an apology or any compensation for my wasted time. Based on my experience with customer service I am doubtful if my refund will ever be issued but luckily I paid using Paypal (where refunds are almost instantaneous) so if the refund doesn't occur I will chase up with them. In short my experience with Osawa was a terrible one and I am deeply disappointed as the meat I ordered was for my families Christmas celebrations which will not be happening now. My advice to others is make sure they know where you want your order delivered as they clearly don't take notice and based on my interactions...
Read moreI want to start by saying that my experience with this shop left much to be desired, and I must confess that I haven't had the opportunity to taste their products due to the unfortunate customer service I encountered. In this day and age of e-commerce, clarity and ease of use should be paramount, but regrettably, I found the terms and conditions here to be rather ambiguous.
My confusion arose when I misinterpreted the delivery terms. I missed the Thursday noon cutoff for Friday delivery, and I was determined to order some of their hotpot-style meat products, with a budget of around $100 in mind. In my optimism, I reached out to their live chat early the next morning, hoping to salvage the situation. Unfortunately, I was informed that I needed to place my order 24 hours in advance for pickups and was directed to visit their retail shop, "Wagyu Corner."
I eagerly shared this information with a friend who kindly volunteered to make the trip to Strathfield on my behalf, as this meal was meant to be shared with a group of 10 adults I was hosting. To my dismay and disappointment, upon arriving at the "Wagyu Corner," my friend discovered that there were no hotpot meats available, and the retail staff on site provided little to no assistance. It was a truly shocking and disheartening experience, both online and in person. Appaling.
While the quality of their products may indeed be exceptional, this unfortunate encounter left a bitter taste in my mouth, and the disappointment was shared among all our friends who had been looking forward to the gathering.
For those considering placing an order, my advice would be to do so online between Sunday and Thursday, making sure to meet the 12 noon cutoff for next-day delivery. If you place an order on Friday, be prepared to wait until Monday for your...
Read moreOsawa Enterprises, particularly under the 2GR brand, provides an exceptional standard of beef that meets the needs of both quality-focused and Halal-conscious consumers. The product I received was clearly labeled as “Slaughtered in accordance to Islamic rite,” which offers valuable peace of mind for those who specifically seek Halal-certified meat. This level of transparency is appreciated and speaks to the company’s commitment to serving a broader customer base.
The beef itself was of outstanding quality—boneless, fresh, and vacuum-sealed for optimal preservation. The marbling and tenderness of the cut (Point End Brisket) were impressive, indicating a premium-grade product suitable for slow-cooking, smoking, or even high-end restaurant use. The meat retained its juiciness and depth of flavor, which is a true marker of well-raised and properly processed beef.
The packaging included comprehensive details such as the slaughter, packing, and expiry dates, along with the origin (Brisbane, Queensland) and ideal storage temperatures. This kind of clarity and traceability is important for anyone who values food safety and origin transparency.
Overall, Osawa Enterprises has set a high standard in the Australian beef industry. Their offerings reflect not only premium livestock but also attention to processing standards and cultural dietary requirements. I would highly recommend them to both retailers and individual buyers looking for premium Halal-certified beef without...
